The “Back Forty” is property commonly found on the outskirts of the Wisconsin family farm. Here uncultivated acres wait prime for adventure- forts, tree houses, rope swings and first kisses! A place to run away, to camp, to climb, to build, to play. Not actually home but not too far away. That’s the Back Forty. The beer you hold is similar both dark and adventurous still smooth and familiar. Here’s a beer you can enjoy without pretense or explanation. Every mind requires some acres of possibility, space for dreams, the great escape, everyone needs a Back Forty.

Look: pours a light brown. Maybe a deep ruby. Pours clear with a white head that fades quickly. No lacing on the rim. Smell: very sweet malty aroma. Banana. Taste: heavy malt. Bready flavor. Slight bitterness on the back. Feel: almost feels like a soda. Heavy carbonation. Foams every time you tilt the glass back and forth. Overall: not my style of beer. But ok. Nothing wrong with it just not my style. First drank: home 7/13/14

Bottle to glass. A deep, clear caramel color with a thick off white head. Malt sweetness, with a little roasted hint in the aroma (with a little metallic?). Medium carbonation. A malty, yeasty sweetness. It mellows a little as it warms. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at a BOSS meeting thanks to Goetz. Pours dark brown with one finger of head. Aroma is slight roast and some caramel and nuttiness. Flavor follows medium bodied. Nice beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

pours cola brown with a medium tan head. aroma is toasted biscuit. taste is crisp and clean (and no caffeine. LOL) Kind of non-descript. mild sweetness on the finish. Not bad, but Uff-Da is a much better bock from NG.
