12floz bottle, no date, part of an $8 mix-six, pint glass. Brown colored ale with a tan head. The aroma is mostly spruce, bit there is a sweet malty undertone. Flavor reflects the aroma, with mildly bitter pine and subtle toasted bread notes. Body is lighter than most black IPAs I've tried, and is more drinkable on the chuggability index. Fairly good.m chicagobears (499) - Elk Grove Village, Illinois, USA - FEB 9, 2018
Very dense brown pour into New Glarus tour pint glass. Same beer I had on the tour but this one is from bottle. I mostly get a licorice aroma in the nose. The flavor is chocolate malt in the front. Has some earthy tones with a citrus finish. Very rich and tastes more of a brown ale than IPA. Excellent palate. fraternie (1034) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 29, 2017
Pours black with a tan head. Flavors of molasses and roasted chocolate malt gain character from a strong piney hop note that runs throughout. Medium length. hershiser2 (4047) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - DEC 23, 2017
Bottle courtesy Drake. Thanks!! Pours dark brown with a large beige head. Aroma is citrus - especially orange, pine, meaty red fruit. Flavor is meaty red fruit (it has a name but it escapes me), orange rind, pine, anise and/or licorice. Very tasty, and a better way to end the night than Jaguar Ice (which will live forever on one of my can shelves). bpreo (3093) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - DEC 10, 2017
A new glarus beer I haven’t had before! What better time that a week in Wisconsin to try it?
