Bottle: Poured a hazy dark brown color dunkel with a large foamy head with OK retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of caramelized malt with light notes of cloves and some residual sugar. Taste is also an enjoyable mix between a solid caramel malt backbone with nice ester of cloves and light banana bread with a well balance sweet finish. Body is quite full with good carbonation. Well brewed though more ester originating from the yeast strain could have provided further enjoyment. JAF737300 (1291) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 28, 2011
Pours a deep stout brown with nice notes of spice (clove) and choclate. Not as deep bodied as expected but it certainly gives notes of spices and the malt like/wheat sweetness. Nice spicy finish. Emily_Rose (20) - California, USA - DEC 30, 2010

Poured liked a liquid chocolate diamond with a beautiful, creamy head. The aroma is warm, like a kitchen full of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. The taste is lighter than I expected, a side effect of using wheat, maybe?
It’s a harmonious union of wheat and stouty goodness <3 Hopper (827) - San Antonio, Texas, USA - NOV 23, 2010
12 oz. brown bottle thanks to St. Fun. Let me start off by saying this beer really surprised me. It poured a somewhat black with a very big and very beautiful head. This beer looks good as the bubbles start to whisper away. The aroma has a nice banana to it and it seems to meld with some chocolate and bread, very nice. It’s like chocolate banana wheat oatmeal bread. The first taste has chocolate with a little banana, even though the banana comes in the middle. The oats mix nicely. All the flavors in this beer gel together in a very good way. The mouthfeel is nice also. decaturstevo (6257) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - NOV 16, 2010
Black pour with creamy tan head and lace. Peaty, light coffee, and wheat. Peat, coffee, and wheat malt. Medium full bodied but fizzy.

Thanks decaturstevo for sharing-12oz bottle-pours a dissipating light brown head with dark brown color. Aroma is dark malt-roasty/anise. Taste is dark malt-roasty/anise, 2nd earthy hop bite. arminjewell (9687) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - SEP 15, 2010
Pours deep brown with off white head, aroma is chocolate, touch of coffee, and roasted notes with a touch of spice. Taste up front is a bit of banana leading into chocolate, roasted malt, and some clove with a roasted bitter finish. Very nice brew. DeadGirl (478) - San Diego, California, USA - SEP 13, 2010
Pours brown, more like deep mocha, and topped with fairly dense head from the 12oz. bottle: Nose is of roast chocolate, lactose, clove, hits of cinnamon, hazelnut, almond, swirls of rich caramel, and warm banana. Light to medium bodied. Finishes with a touch of light, dry smoke. Drinkability: A great late September brew. Rebuy: Yeah. Pairing: An earthy cheese, perhaps Stilton. #472 on 13092010, DG. This poured a darker brown color with an off white head. Aroma was lots of chocolate and roasted notes with some light yeasty character in there too. Flavor was silky smooth toasted malts and chocolate with some spicey yeast flavors too. Excellent Dunkelweizen. Nena (963) - Seattle, Washington, USA - AUG 22, 2010
Pours a deep cloudy, nearly black brown with a small tan head. Smells of chocolate, smoke, and slightly charred toasted wheat bread with a hint of spice. Tastes pretty similar: smoke, char, dark wheat, subtle spice. Interesting stuff.
