This Nobel-Pilsner is the creation of our brewmaster. He brought special yeast from Bavaria, combined it with Wisconsin barley and the finest Bavarian and American hops. Then employing traditional brewing methods, this Pilsner is finished with a long cold rest in our cellars. Expect this bier to be creamy and full-bodied with a smooth finish.

I like the slight sweetness peeking shyly out from under the stronger features - hops and carbonation - Irs a pretty beer, too, deep late summer golds.

Im somewhat surprised to read folks complaining of a lack of hops in this one - I was struck by the strength of the little green devils, acyually - hard and heady with perfumy floral action. The result was a bit disconcerting - the hops seemed to set this beer on edge and the resulting energy was negative. There is enough malt strenght to take the edge off as you go, but my impression lingers like the soap bitter aftertaste.

A little dark for a pilsner, coming in at a very pretty orange hue. Sweet malts shine through the aroma and bring warm thoughts from such a cold little beer. The flavor is perfect for a pilsner ... with a lazy mellow grainy/hay flavor in the background. This beer would be the perfect bedfellow for a lazy summer day in a hammock. Not the best example of style, but a great beer nonetheless.

Golden with good head and lace, quite a bit of carbination. Touch of flowers in the nose. Well balanced between malt and hops, with nothing really coming out and grabbing you in the taste. A little citrusy maybe. A perfectly acceptable beer.

This is a pretty well rounded beer. Im just not a big pilsner fan i guess. It has a nice malt/hop balance, but a bitter aftertaste reminiscent of macrobrews.

UPDATED: SEP 13, 2005 bottle-pours light orange with a soapy white head. grainy aroma with a touch of funky german yeast. smells like a grain silo to me. flavors represent this tenfold-more grains than hops. a grainy malty pils is what we have here. nice palate-mild carbonation and slightly viscus for this style. This beer needs some hops though. this beer would go well with some cheese in new glarus!

UPDATED: APR 5, 2003 12 oz bottle beautiful golden in color with a nice white foamy head that doesn't seem to last long, light hoppy flowery aroma, balanced malt and hop flavors, medium to full mouthfeel has a clean crisp finish, I am not a big fans of pilsner but I love this one, well done.

This is my first rating, and first taste of this beer. Its smooth and malty (which I like), but not anything to get real excited about. Its a good session brew.

OK, but I seldom get excited over pilseners; Urquell is the exception.
