12 oz bottle from iowaherkeye - thanks Joey! Pretty pour - deep, clear gold with a fluffy white head. Well carbonated, with streams of bubbles rising up to the head. Nice lacing. Mildly sweet nose, lightly malty, shortbread cookie, chalk dust and mild grass. Initially, a nice grassy bite shocks the tongue, but it fades and a lightly spicy grain takes over. More dry than expected, the hops really shine through toward the finish, with light lemon zest joining the grassyness. Pepper peeks through at the very tail end of the clean, dry finish. I enjoyed this very much, an excellent session brew! houseofwares (21) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 12, 2007
UPDATED: MAR 16, 2009 Bottle. Pours pale gold. On the nose you’ll find malt in front of lemon, lime, and citrus hops. The body is thin, but has "backbone". The flavor is perfect for warm weather, or warm fare with soft citrus fruit followed by an array of subdued hop notes. There hasn’t been a New Glarus beer that I haven’t liked, and this is no exception. Fuck you. Beerdedone (3452) - Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 10, 2007
Bottle sampled. Pours a hazy golden color with a small white head. Aroma of pale malts, grain, floral hops and a hint of lemon. Flavor is well hopped with grain, light malts, grass, and notes of some citrus with a crisp finish. crizay (1050) - Brook Park, Ohio, USA - NOV 7, 2007
Darker golden pour, small white head. Aroma is corn. Flavor is corn, biscuit and lots of noble hops. Good crisp hop flavor and a good amount of malts. what else to say about a pilsener User37895 (3085) - - OCT 21, 2007
Bottle courtesy Bockyhorsey. Our was golde with a bit of amber hues mixed in there, nice initial white head, changes to thin covering, ring around the edge, spotty lacing. The aroma was herbal, grassy, grainy, wheaty bite? The flavor followed the aroma, a touch of mintiness in there too. A lot going on in this one, despite it being just a "blonde" ale. Mouthfeel wasn’t bad, full for a blonde.

Big thanks to jarlbartar for bonusing me this tasty brew. 12oz bottle pours clear golden with white head. The aroma is crisp and lively with mild lemon, hints of hop spice and floral hops as well as sugary pale malts and hints of wheat. As it warms the faint hop aromas grow to more than a murmur. The taste starts sweet and malty and quickly turn into crisp a lemon twang (not all that tart or sour), hop spice and floral hops. Just like in the nose. The hop flavor seems to grow into the finish with a nice lingering floral hop sense and carries into the finish. stefanberggren (135) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 16, 2007
I have praised Dan and Deb for bringing this back to our open mouths ! The taste is malty with an assertive bitternes (flavor and aroma) not as dry as some dort style lagers, but better balanced. Flavor is perfect and this is what my great grandfather would have loved after pushing the manual lawnmower around. I wish and can hope that they make this a year round beer !!!! PS this is also Dan’s favorite beer to brew (as told by Deb) Cheers ! GG (2332) - NorCal, California, USA - OCT 15, 2007
Truly an outstanding drinking experience and to those who can get this beer at their local store I am jealous. This might be one of those "go-to" beers because it is outstanding in every way. An aroma of toffee, rich molasses, and brown sugar. Appearance was a deep brown, almost black body, with a very thin head. Flavor was really sweet, molasses and caramel do their best to hide an earthy character that was there. All that and it still has enough to show a dark fruit character that made it go from damn good to great. Excellent beer. A must have. BückDich (5477) - McCall, Idaho, USA - OCT 5, 2007
RBSG 07 Minneapolis Grand Tasting: Pale yellow, light head and lacing. Nose of skunky hops and salty malt. The flavor is malty, husky, some malts. Clean, balanced. Ok. 37steel (186) - St. Charles, Illinois, USA - SEP 27, 2007
Bottle. Nice clear yellow with a thin head. Much stronger hop aroma than expected with the color. Well balanced malt flavor with a strong bitter finish. Another good beer from New Glarus.
