COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In playful pursuit of butterflies a Red Fox danced across the brewery hill. His joy so pure it bubbled through our hearts and into this beer. Laughing Fox is a sparkling Kristal Weizen brewed in the Bavarian tradition with 50% Wisconsin wheat in our open top fermenters. Tickle your nose notes of spicy clove and cinnamon abound. Dan’s inspired Weizen interpretation reflects the deep bittersweet color of our Fox’s red coat. Expect this beer to pour a lively effervescent glass thick with creamy foam and bursting with luscious fruity notes on your pallet. This is easy drinking beer perfect for a friendly Wisconsin evening. Relax, this is God’s Country, here we have the strength to reach for the stars and change the world.

Pours a pretty amber with a thick head of light tan foam. Nose is of carmel, honey and fruit. Fairly creamy on the palate, the taste is of bread, yeast, honey, lightly spiced and lightly hopped. Very drinkable and smooth, this beer pairs well with white cheese spread on thin matzo crackers.

One of the better offerings from New Glarus Brewing Company. Nice clove and very slight cinnamon hints. Nothing strong or "over done". here.

12 oz bottle courtesy of brewolf. Thanks. Pours a dark copper color with a medium fine off-white head that has fair retention. The aroma is mild with caramel, banana and cinnamon. The flavor mirrors the aroma and features banana, cookie dough, spices and apricots. The palate is light but effective and the carbonation is lively. Finishes long and dry with lingering spices. Overall: Very tasty, I really love the way that New Glarus does wheat beers.

Amber color, ridiculous head. Fruity and spicy but balanced. Medium all-around.

Pours copper with a thin white head. Malty caramel aroma. Lots of crystal in this one. Very malty flavor with a hint of grass and banana. Not bad. Pretty dull. But, I think that is what kristal wizen is all about.

Bottle at home, thanks to Dany! From my Minneapolis Town Hall glass. Pours clear deep copper/red, thick white head, ropey lacing. Nose is caramel, light floral hops, underripe bananas, light fruit. Flavours of light berries and apples, caramel, spice, apple pie, cinnamon, lightly sweet finish. Quite nice, for a style I normally hate.

Originally reviewed: 2/8/12. Poured into a tall weizen glass. This beer pours with a massive amount of foam, which dissipates to leave a thick beige head capping off a clear dark amber beer. This is darker than I had anticipated, but it’s a good color to go with the ’Fox’ moniker. Sweet aromas stand out. Banana, clove, sugar cookies. Mellow feel. Carbonation is low-to-moderate. Sweet banana bread, mild caramel, clove, bready finish. This was an easy drinker. Sweet beer that was refreshing and uplifting. Not a go-to for me, but a pleasant beer anyways.
