This may be my first Kristallweizen. A filtered Hefeweizen, but it still retains all the best flavors.
Taste: Crisp, malty wheat, spiced cinnamon notes.
Sweet bread nose.
Amber color and clear with average head.
Medium to lite body appetizer beer. robobeerbelly (78) - Wisconsin, USA - FEB 10, 2015
very good. kind of hard to describe this beer cause i’m not familiar with kristallweizen style beers but it was good. go get one! slowrunner77 (12030) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 12, 2014
"Another wish list item from Heybeerman, which is the case for any new Glarus I haven’t tried and many I have. Pours clear, but dark like an amber, almost red. Huge head. Both this and the winter warmer had more of a spicy belgianesque quality than expected. Fruity, crisp and clean. Light spice and fruit in the flavor. Not up to par with other wheats from NG, but among the better Krystals I’ve had. " TXBadger (2811) - Dallas, Texas, USA - APR 24, 2014
Interesting aroma, cinnamon and clove are very present. Spicy on the palate, wheat follows that, and finishes with a semi-sweet taste. troyc (2869) - Illinois, USA - APR 16, 2014
[Bottle] Clear light amber pour with a large amount of dense white head. Highly carbonated. Yeast and wheat malts in the aroma. Taste is of dough, vanilla, bubblegum, light fruits, cinnamon and light banana. Compared to the other New Glarus wheat beers, this one is definitely lighter-- but I actually prefer the heavier palate. Tasting notes from 2012.

Pour is amber with a bubbly white head. Aroma is of banana, cloves, and caramel. Flavor is sweeter than I expected with notes of caramel, brown sugar, and wheat germ. It’s like a Vienna mixed with a Hefeweizen. Gridfather (32) - - NOV 24, 2013
12/17/12, Pint glass poured from a bottle. The color is a glorious copper-amber. The aroma is malty with a touch of bitterness. The head is thick and darker than I anticipated. The malt gods are rejoicing! Yummy malt with limited hops. A touch of an English ale.
The bottle's label references spicy clove and cinnamon. I concur. It also states the beer is a Weizen but this is like no wheat beer I have had. It is unique but I like it!

12 oz bottle served in a New Glarus taster and flute. Split with the wifey for dinner.
A: Pours a brownish color, clear and light, with a white head forming on the pour. It recedes to a thin ring that leaves some splotchy lace down the glass.
S: Big yeasty notes up front. Clove and banana. Sweet bread with some cracked wheat as well.
T: Same as the nose. Lots of yeasty esters, clove and banana, with some backing wheat flavors. Sweet malts as well. Light citrus note, but the malts, wheat and yeast are the stars of the show.
M: Light bodied with a medium carbonation level. Sweet finish.
O: A nice beer. My first true Kristalweizen. Nice flavors all around. Well balanced.

Wonderful beer with a deep romantic redish/orange color with an off white creamy head. This beer has less wheat profile than Dancing Man Wheat but was never intended to be it’s rival.
The beer has notes of clove and spices which delivers a compexity not seen in wheat beers. I enjoy the carbonation which cleans the palate between cheese flights. Delightfull and a great Krystal Weizen brew...anywhere. jmagnus87 (2912) - Rockford, Illinois, USA - AUG 11, 2013
12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a clear amber with a half finger of white head. Aroma of wheat and clove with a good dose of baking spice. Taste is light sweet. Banana and clove with wheat. Light bodied with a thin yet slightly sticky texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, very good.
