Ar: Deeply resinous, red grapefruit, fresh orange peel, and perfume.
Ap: Straw golden - crystal clear - small white head with low retention.
T: Hoppy and bitter up front, with similar flavors as aroma (deep resinous citrus and flowers) - very little malt character, quite clean - low sweetness and bitter finish.
P: Medium-light body with medium-high carbonation, fairly dry and crisp.
O: Wonderful hop aroma - clean and crisp, with a great combination of drinkability and depth of flavor - a touch of malt sweetness and comblexity and a little more color would make this ideal for me, but still a very impressive beer. dionysus (1486) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUL 27, 2011
Bottle pours gold with a white head. Aroma is fruity with notes of grapefruit, peach, caramel, and florals. Flavor shows the same with additional notes of lemon zest, pine, and an herbal quality that I can’t quite put my finger on. All in all, a pretty solid APA. Pours a light golden color with a fizzy white head. Aroma is malt, citrus, hops, grapefruit. Flavor is grapefruit peel, citrus, hops, malt. Well balanced and easy to drink. Fantastic session beer, now if I only had more than this single bottle. mrjaxson (588) - .08 Junction, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 16, 2011
A great one from New Glarus. A bit of everything in the aroma: citrus, lemon and maybe even a touch of honey. Considering the hops load, the bitterness is much lighter than expected. A long, smooth finish. A terrific pale ale well-suited to Wisconsin’s summer. FreshHawk (596) - Iowa City, Iowa, USA - JUL 15, 2011
A - Golden orange color with a decent sized, foamy, whispy, white head. Decent retention with patchy lace.
S - Nice hop aroma with floral and lemony aroma. Touches of grapefruit, general citrus, and a touch of pine as well. Grassy and spiced notes as well.
T - Similar to the nose. Starts with a strong lemony hop flavor with some floral and fresh cut grass notes. Hints of grapefruit are there but not prominent. A touch of wheat is present in the back. Slight tart and bitter finish.
M - Light body with average carbonation. Crisp, refreshing feel.
D - Refreshing taste with plenty of hop flavor for the style. Nice crisp tart and bitter kicks balanced well with a malty taste.
Notes: Nice APA with plenty of hop flavor. Lemon, floral and grass flavors are strong. This results in a nice, crisp beer that is great for summer. Well balanced and overall just nice.

Bottle. Pours a lovely, glowing light orange with soapy white head with tons of bubbles and tacky, soapy laving. Aromas of juicy citrus pine, fuel, grapefruit rinds, pineapple, tons of caramel malt. Taste is very hoppy with a pronounced tropical resin profile. Tons of guava, tangerine, sweet and peppery tasting notes. Moon man had a crisp, honey hop bite in the finish. Awesome pale ale. dimenhetfield (2486) - , Florida, USA - JUL 10, 2011
Bottle poured into snifter. New Glarus continues to wow me with their styles and flavors. I expected a middle of the road attempt at this style but was blown away by the hop presence in the aroma and flavor. The flavor itself is a little dry with earthy hop notes but is very drinkable and enjoyable. greenhorn1 (850) - Mission Viejo, California, USA - JUL 7, 2011
Bottle. This is an excellent pale ale that tastes like a west coast IPA. Nice blend of malts and hops. Strong citrus backbone and nose. Lasting bitter finish. Very easy to drink. This is a perfect beer to drink while batting away these huge frickin’ bugs in Northern Minnesota. weihenweizen (3840) - Charleston Area, West Virginia, USA - JUL 5, 2011
Refrigerated bottle complements of cbfobes. Pours clear golden with small white head that dissapates quickly. Medium carbonation, little lacing, and medium body, and smooth texture. Taste is long grapefruit with light bitterness in the finish. Reminds me of a better version of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. jlruthven (612) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 3, 2011
Tap at the New Glarus tasting room. Golden orange, small white head. Nose is grapefruity hops, slight orange and a bit of pine. Mouthfeel is a tad watery, but some solid citrus hops bolster it nicely. Not top of the charts, but solid.
