2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pours a clear, golden brown color. Two-finger head of white foam. Retention is pretty good. Lacing is spotty, but decent.
The nose is very light. Some grass, maybe some corn, and a light floral hint.
Tastes of corn and barley notes. Light hints of grass and maybe some malts. Hint of hops, lightly. Ends with a weird, bitter twang, that is slightly off-putting.
Light and crisp.
If I liked macros, I think that I might like this one more. As it is, I don’t really like it much, at all. I don’t think I’ll be having this one again.
Reviewed from notes: pours an amber color with white head. Cereal grains and some light hop notes on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a weird sweetness. slowrunner77 (12804) - Reno, Nevada, USA - OCT 14, 2014
"i could peg this as a straight organic ale rather than an american pale because it’s so mellow. that threw me off, but it still is a quite pleasant and well balanced, drinkable brew. Very smooth, clean, and easy drinking. the hoppiness, especially in the aroma, is understated for an APA." Onenote81 (1002) - Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA - APR 27, 2012
Originally reviewed: 12/19/08. Pours a deep cloudy goldish orange with a large foamy head on top. This retains well and leaves excellent lacing. Smells of malty grains that were dipped in hop juice. Smells good.
I was excited to try this as it’s one of my favorite styles and one of my favorite breweries, but the taste on this one fell a bit short. Tastes of minute corn mixed with raisins; hop bitterness is not balanced as I would like it, and it finishes a tad sour. New Glarus missed the mark on this organic APA. Completely ordinary and boring. Not a bad APA, but not a good one either. I grabbed 1 6 pack and gave 4 bottles away to a buddy that liked it more than I. There just isn’t a whole lot going on here. DasBierChef (1084) - Hudson, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 17, 2011
So this is why things are better when organic, eh? a very nice beer with some tasty notes!

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a nice beigh head. Aroma was grainy and grassy with floral hops. Flavor was pale malts, grains, floral and had a hint of grapefruit. JAF737300 (1291) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 29, 2011
Pours mid amber with notes of malt and very light hops. The medium bodied beers shows nuanced hit of both hops and malt grain. Thorpe429 (5122) - , Illinois, USA - APR 13, 2011
Reviewed from notes.
Pours a somewhat cloudy yellow grain color with a slight white head, a bit of retention, and not too much lacing. The nose is slight grain and some very faint floral hops. Taste is a bit grainy with a bit of a light, creamy texture. Somewhat low carbonation. Drinkability is a bit high as this is nice and light without too much going on.

The beer pours a medium honey gold with a very light head that disappears quickly.
The aroma is light and plain, it smells like a typical macro american beer. It has a little swettness to it.
The taste is very light, you can hardly taste anything. Its super watery in feel.
This beer is disappointing overall. crossovert (13909) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 4, 2011
12 oz bottle from a sampler pack.
Pours a hazy golden/peach color. The head is white, thin, quickly dissipating, and leaves no lacing.
The smell is almost nonexistent but it is grassy, earthy and malty.
The taste is slightly metallic, very malty, almost no hops, like any other stereotypical apas out there. The new one, Moon Man is a hoppier version of this.
NG can do better than this.
