500mL bottle shared by csbosox, thanks Chris. Pours clear but dark cola color. The aroma of the beer goes inline with the other New Glarus fruit brews. I’ll burrow Tim’s statement to describe the aroma, "vanilla-yeast-fruit." I’ll add "thick" to describe it. It’s strong and good (and very much like Belgian Red). There is sweet vanilla and some light bourbon. Flavor is akin to a thicker Belgian Red with a greater alcoholic bite, presumably from the Bourbon barrel. BIG vanilla aroma comes storming out of the glass. I didn’t find the cherry character overwhelming - it definitely played second fiddle to the bourbon barrel influence. Nicely done combination of tart cherry, sour and barrel aging. Tasty
500 ml bottle shared by csbosox. Pour is mostly clear mahogany golden with a fizzy white head that falls pretty quick. Aroma is similar to the gueze, big oak vanilla, Brett and only mildly cherry. Taste is the vanilla oak up front, followed close behind by cherry fruit (skin, tart). The Bourbon is present, though in the back with a warm booziness. There is a herbal yeastiness that is reminiscent of the Belgian Red. Palate is medium, coats the mouth pleasantly, spritzy carbonation nice clean fruit finish. Thanks for sharing this one Chris.

Bottle. Poured a clear red amber with a light brown head that dissipated quickly. Aroma had a nice sour cherry note with a hint of bourbon. Deep rusty brown pour with a small, fizzy, white head. The aroma has lots of strong bourbon, lush tart cheries, caramel, vanilla, and apple cider vinegar. The flavor is sweet and tart cherries upfront with a sweet malty middle and finishing with a kick of bourbon, vanilla, oak, lactic acid and a tiny bit of brett funk. New glarus r/d barrel aged kriek. 500ml bought at the hilltop location.. Pours a medium caramel brown with
reddish hues and a thin soapy white head... Aroma of spice, bourbon,
and maraschino cherries with nutmeg and allspice. somewhat akin to a manhattan cocktail, no?.. Flavors are spicy
with apple and cherry notes as well as addition hints of bourbon. Some
greenness to it to boot. Mostly sweet with a hint of cherry tartness.
Nice fluffy thin to medium body. Nice.
