Pours a reddish amber with a white head. Smell of cherry vanilla soda and whiskey. Taste is cherry, vanilla, bourbon, and awesome. Just wow.

Bottle, thanks a ton Greg! Clear amber, orange pour with thin to no white head. Aroma is very decadent, notes of sour cherry, vanilla, slight bourbon, and some slight lemon notes. Taste is a nice mix of cherry, vanilla and sweet bread with tart lemon, and finishes fairly sweet with some vanilla and bourbon. Nice and different!

Bottle. Clear dark reddish pour, medium carbonation and a nice mellow whiskey/vanilla aroma. Flavor is light cherry, very mellow aroma, subtle wood/vanilla from the bourbon barrel(but not boozy) and sour and tart on the aftertaste. Unique and very enjoyable!

A: The pour is amber in color with a creamy off white head. S: A big time cherry pie aroma to this one, shockingly similar to Wisconsin Belgian Red. A bit of a caramel and malt sweetness along with some bourbon and vanilla. I get very minimal tartness. T: Cherries and a cherry pie type flavor are what this one is all about. Again, caramel, toffee, bourbon, and vanilla. Surprisingly sweet for a kriek. Seems more like a bourbon barrel aged Wisconsin Belgian Red. M: The body is medium and so is the level of carbonation. D: Very disappointing, I must say. I do like their Belgian Red, but I was expecting something that is a little more of a departure from the same beer that you can get year round.

1/15/11. Bottle shared at the Sea Bass tasting. Awesome vanilla BA aromas mixed with fantastic spiced cherry. Light spiced cherry flavor with a hint of vanilla and coconut. This is heaven!

Bottle Tampa Farewell to Sebletitje Tasting Clear amber ale with little to no head. The bouquet offers oak, toffee, vanilla, a dab of coconut, a pat of butter and a splash of red wine vinegar - not all that fruity in the nose. Full-bodied with tickling carbonation. Flavor-wise, its caramely, tart and lightly acetic with loads of fruity sour cherries. Sweet-tart finish. Great stuff! This world class bottle of beer was shared by fogdog. Thanks, Kevin!

Thanks to fogdog for bringing this to the So Long Sea Bass Tasting. Pours orange-yellow with an off-white head. Nose is bourbon, cherry, vanilla, sugar, and Belgian Red. I see in the description that there are bugs in here. There certainly are none that come through. The barrel flavor makes this taste like Barrel Aged Belgian Red. Medium-bodied and an excellent blend of barrel and fruit beer. Kudos to New Glarus for keeping the alcohol content so low. Please bottle this again and make it a seasonal! This seems like a fine session beer to keep for dessert.

Bottle @ Seabass going away party, Jan15th 11. Courtesy of Fogdog. New Glarus sest encore surpass.

Hazy amber color pour with a foamy head. Aroma of tart cherries, bourbon, spice, vanilla and oak. Flavor is tart, but not seriously sour, with cherries, bourbon and vanilla. Like a bourbon cherry pie. Seriously delicious!
