barnyard story. Very funky aroma, barnyard on steroids. Significant foaming. Very much smooth soapy lace, and lots of soapy head. The taste is barnyard, socks, wet rag, detergent, straw, corn, peas. Smooth mouthfeel, though mildly acidic in finish. A dramatically different golden. FlandersNed. Huhzubendah (3709) - Washington DC, USA - JUL 27, 2012

A: Hazy, light orange color with a large bubbly head that leaves a thick coat of lacing on the glass.
S: A really terrific aroma with scents of Belgian yeast, funk, gueuze-like characteristics.
T: Nice brettanomyces character with some pleasant funk and spices in the mix as well. The beer smells better than it tastes, but I do really enjoy the flavor. The beer has a nice sourness, though it’s not super tart or puckering by any means.
M: Good feel, appropriate carbonation, alcohol hidden very well.
D: A really good brew. I would drink this anytime. Recommended.
I am really glad I got to try this one again. Previously, I had a 1 oz. sample at a tasting and really enjoyed it. I’ve been looking forward to enjoying a healthy pour of this beer ever since. Possibly my favorite offering from New Glarus. craftycarl21 (2338) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUL 13, 2012
Hazy peach colored pour. Nose of tart wheat and bread, with the flavor bring more of that lemon acidity, grain, touches of stone fruit. Almost like a berliner weiss, but i’m not really impressed. keepersj12 (3133) - Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA - JUN 23, 2012
Pours orange with a thin head. The aroma has the unmisrakeable Brett. The flavor has that sourness and a bit of funk. The flavor has the Brett as well. Very crisp and clean. Nice after taste. Mine was brewed 3/23/09 and bottled 6/18/09. Old but good like me. ChainGangGuy (4897) - Woodstock, Georgia, USA - JUN 10, 2012
Appearance: Pours a light golden body, hazy, and with a full inch of near white foam.

Smell: Leather chaps dipped in phenols, pineapple rings dipped in relatively clean sweat, a squirt of lemon juice, and some underlying straw-like malts.
Taste: Lightly malty with modest touches of bread and toasted straw. Light sweetness from a dusting of powdered sugar. Background hops remain light. Floral soap suds. Musty cobwebs, lightly funky barnyard character, jutting phenols. Citrusy lemon. Saliva-inducing, drying finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-high, engaging carbonation.
Overall: An interesting, enjoyable brew.
I picked this up at the New Glarus Brewery on my May 2012 visit. At that time, this was the only “brewery exclusive” beer that was offered.
Pours a cloudy copper color with a thick, foamy head. Scent is a mixture of citrus and floral scents. Taste is bold with flavors of hibiscus, citrus and other floral tones. Smooth, mellow and delicious. Drinks great and keeps inviting you back for another sip. If you think the New Glarus 6 packs are good, you’re in for a treat as this is even better!

pours a pale yellow wit a thin foamy white head. aroma is dusty and spicy with light bretty and fruity notes...slightly oxidized i think. flavor follows suit...mild bretty and fruity notes but a hint of cardboard and a stale note. mouthfeel is light and silky with a dusty/fruity finish that has tea notes...2009 bottle may be a little pat its prime. Belle robe blonde cuivrée aux arômes florales et funky. En bouche c’est fortement malté, sucré avec les notes du brett qui forment doucement le liquide à sa main. DasBierChef (1083) - Hudson, Wisconsin, USA - APR 14, 2012
Pours, as one would expect, a beautiful gold. Super carbonated, huge white head. Aroma is fruity, yeasty and wonderful. Flavor offers more complexity with each sip. Wonderful. ssinger1485 (23) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - APR 5, 2012
This was brewed 3-23-09 and I’m tasting it on 4-5-2012. The smell reminds me of a museum, kind of a old/musty/sweet smell. I don’t mean that in a bad way...it doesn’t smell bad at all. It’s hazy gold with a fair amount of sediment. The taste again reminds me of a museum, plus pear on the front end, and kind of citrusy in the back end. It’s a complex and interesting beer to try.
