3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. The pour was a murky dark brown with a huge (3-4 fingers) light brown frothy head that lasted throughout and had excellent sticky streaks of lacing.
The aroma was mild of a cereal malt and a sweet doughy yeast with notes of coffee, milk chocolate, molasses and a slight nutty presence.
The taste was sweetly malty with a strong note of chocolate early on and finished about the same with a mild bitter note of coffee towards the end. The flavor lasted an average duration with a nice sweet coffee ending.
Mouthfeel was medium to full in body with a creamy texture and a soft carbonation.
Overall a great Sweet Stout that had just a slight mild bitterness to it.
Bottle. Pours nearly I opaque black, large creamy tan head, great lacing. Aroma is roasty, tobacco, molasses. Flavor is light sweet, light plus bitter. Melon plus body. Good. jmohno (1652) - Iowa, USA - JUL 1, 2017
black opaque mostly, slight ruby hue. Heady, rocky head. Aroma is a nice chocolate, slight roasty, maybe herbal and a hint of citrus. Smooth taste, chocolate, mellow easy roast malt, finishes like semi-bitter dark chocolate. Good stout, a little less sweet and lighter body than i was expecting, but good. Winter seasonal, that I found in Dickyville WI in June. Their fruit beers are so good I just got the Belgian cherry which is excellent , I knew I should have gotten serendipity and raspberry tart again, Oh well maybe Ill roadtrip another time to pick up different seasonals. ctipping (2202) - Florida, USA - JUN 20, 2017
12 oz. bottle. Pours dark brown with some transparency. Smells of oatmeal, chocolate, roasted malt. Nice. Tastes of roasted malt, oatmeal lends some sweetness. A little chocolate sweetness behind it before the roasted malt comes back. Dries out in the finish. Medium body. Really well made stout. dinkle50 (1531) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 30, 2017
Black pour with a huge, foamy, slightly tan head. Aroma of lager yeast and a bit of lactose. Hints of chocolate. Medium bodied. Taste is light, bitter roasted malt and lager yeast with some coppery notes. A little lace present. Not crazy about this one. mrjaxson (614) - .08 Junction, Wisconsin, USA - APR 29, 2017
Chocolate, roasted nuts and a tinge of lactose sourness in the aroma. Very nice medium-weight stout that is indeed as silky smooth as advertised, with a quick, sweet finish. Not over the top but done very well. Bottled Jan. 28, 2017, so it’s a lovely three-months old.

12floz bottle as a single (per unit ~$1.50) with no clear freshness indicated. Appears dark brown with a thick light-brown head. Derived from the malt bill, the aroma is of molasses. Slick, medium-bodied mouthfeel, and flavors of brown sugar and cocoa are on display. Good. BlackBeerPG (844) - Darien, Illinois, USA - APR 3, 2017
Taste: Smooth, big dark chocolate malts, oatmeal makes for creamy mouthfeel, semi sweet. Roasted chocolate malt nose. Black/Brown, opaque, tan head of ringed lattice. Full but not heavy body. seuinoz (260) - Glen Ellyn, Illinois, USA - MAR 27, 2017
Aroma of burnt coffee and chocolate. Appearance black as tar. Taste is chocolate and hits of coffee. Palate medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation. Overall another great beer from a company only available in Wisconsin. BeerInHeaven (467) - Brillion, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 4, 2017
black pour with a thick tan head. roasted malt aroma with some coffee. Lightly chocalaty taste with a solid malt character. Lightly sweet finish and linger. Pretty good. tmoreau (4593) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - FEB 28, 2017
Shared 12 oz. bottle poured to snifters showing a darkest brown hue, with a presentable layer of tan foam, and spots of lacing. The nose was only modestly roasted, with a touch of cocoa, and hints of toffee & dark caramel. The taste was similar, medium bodied, with okay carbonation, a bit of creaminess to the texture, and some roasted & earthy bitterness. Modestly robust, mild Brown Porter-like, with a fairly drinkable nature.
