Happy Accident Fruit Ale Severe Drought, we shared the farmer’s horror as Wisconsin’s cherry crop failed! Dan bought what cherries he could. The apple crop fared better. Then joy! A grand Wisconsin cranberry harvest. What will Dan brew with Apples, Cranberries and Cherries? Oh my! You hold the happy accident of Wisconsin’s favorite fruit aged in oak with an almost magical wild fermentation. Serendipity is a wondrous celebration that sparkles your senses and dances across your palate. A kaleidoscope of flavors discovered by accident in a sour ale! Cheers to the unexpected. Vielen Dank!

Pours red with a tan head that disappears quickly. Aroma is strong apple and cherry. Taste is tart and fruity but with a significant amount of sweetness, a little much for my taste. It has a medium body with and is a bit fizzy. Overall this is a great beer, wouldn’t mind if it was a bit drier but if I had the opportunity in Chicago to purchase more of this I definitely would be.

At Hopishop 2017. Aroma of lemonade, sugar, raisin and rosehip. Taste has raisin, caramel, rosehip, syrup and sugar. Reminds me of the roosvicee lemonade I got as a child.

Rating #2600. Wax dipped 750 ml from Keyport Liquor in Superior, WI. Aroma contains all three fruits included, in abundance. Cherries come out first, followed by apples and cranberries. There was a fleeting off-note of metal when I first opened it, but it disappeared quickly. Pours hazy amber with a medium beige head with decent retention. Taste is sour and sweet and is a fruit flavor explosion with every sip. Nothing fake here. It's common knowledge, but it bears repeating: New Glarus does fruit beers like no other. Most other breweries' fruit beers look absolutely ridiculous in comparison. This is the bar and it has been set.

Bottle into a wineglass showing rust copper with sparse white foam. The nose shows a juicy mix of cranberries, apples, and red cherries. The palate is light bodied and moderately carbonated. Apple forward balanced with cranberry astringency and lightly tart cherries.

From bottle, shared by Werckmeister, many thanks. Pours copper with a quickly disappearing off-white head. The aroma starts with cherries followed by raspberries, bubble gum and some tart berries in the back. Medium body with a light to medium carbonation, a medium sourness. The flavor is very fruity with cherries, a lot of apple juice, berries. Finishes with a very light hot chili-like sensation, some tartness, some woody qualities and some noticeable alcohol. Very fruity and rich in flavor - nice!

1 pint 9 oz bottle (749ml?) at home shared with Saeglopur, Powy and gf. No ABV or BB date on the bottle. From trade with bursprak, big thanks for this one. bordeaux like hazy color, small white head. smells musty, nutty, marzipan, ripe fruits, bit leathery. nice smell. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of cherries, marzipan, nutty, berry notes, some wood, light sweetness, light apples, raspberries. finishes light to medium sweet with very nice fruit and berry notes. very nice one, very nice one, not the biggest fan of the smell but taste is very nice, feels very heavy though, more than the 5% ABV listed here. I very much enjoyed it.

650 ml bottle, shared by Werckmeister, thanks!.
Copper, hazy body, with a small, creamy, beige head.
Aroma of cherries, sweet berries, red apples, oak, honey, some spices.
Tastes similar, pretty sweet, but also quite rich.
mouthfeel, with a carbonation.
Finishes sweet, a bit wooden, very fruity, with cherries, apples, cranberries, some other berries.

Very nice. Rich, dense and quite complec, with endless amounts of fruits. A bit too sweet for me, but still very interesting stuff. Not much beer character left, this is all about the fruits.

From the tap at the brewery. Very similar to the Rubaeus from Founders Brewery. Pours hazy brown with a fluffy beige head. Aroma is cherries, berries and some vanilla. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet fruitiness. Finishes with a sight sour. Great stuff.
