Bottled. Amber colour, no head.Lovely acidic green apple aroma. Very sweet and lightly funky with cidery apple flavour. Refreshing, and even though it’s really sweet it doesn’t get cloying. Vac (2445) - San Diego, California, USA - JAN 3, 2005
This brew pours with an orange’amber body topped by a thick off-white head with some lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet yet full of sour apple notes. Smells a lot like sparkling cider. The flavor is sweet and full of apple. Is this a beer or a cider...I don’t even notice any beer characteristics. Light bodied, crisp and smooth. beermatrix (1497) - Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA - JAN 25, 2005
Nice light golden copper color with a slight hazyness to it. Small, loosely bubbled and strangely constructed greyish cap that whisps away pretty quickly leaving a thin collar that stays about half the glass down. Lacing is very minimal in spots.
Aroma is musty mushy bruised apples, borderline melon-like with a more musty past-its-prime honeydew thing. Oddly abtrusive yet possibly appetizing and intreguing nose.
Flavor is mellow and musky with a heavy sweet dark apple skin and mush tone. Pretty darn sweet and thickly so; the apple isn’t to bad, its not cidery, its mushy, chewy, tangy, and mellow. The sourness is beyond deep in tone, nearly nonexsisitent until very late where some truer crispy apple tones float across the finish.
Feel is partially thick and chewy with a mellow tang and solid sweet dark apple tone thats melony and candy-like. Sugary through and through; smooth and creamy mediumness in body.
A strange brew tis true. One thats either a ’love it’ or ’hate it’ thing. I’m right in the middle, I don’t particularly like it all that much, but it doesn’t bother me or uninterest me either. I probably won’t buy it again but I’m glad to have tried it. One of those types of brews. Enniskillen (2060) - Bakersfield, California, USA - FEB 1, 2005
Thanks Footbalm! Aroma is euphoric apple juice, sour apple pucker, and apple jolley ranchers. Very sweet, like red and green apples combined. Pretty damn good. Slightly too sweet, a bit of acidity would be nice in this brew. Still a good beer. lilannie (384) - Adamstown, Maryland, USA - FEB 22, 2005
Aroma: granny smith apples, apple spice, and apple pie
BeerPrince (1701) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 10, 2005
Appearance: light yellow, small white head, no lacing
Flavor: sweet, light apple spice, candy sugar, spiciness
Palate: very smooth and bubbly
Light amber colour with a small head. Aroma is apples, some citrus and pears. Flavour was sweet without the sourness of apples I was hoping for. Good beer but nowhere near as good as their Raspberry Tarte. Jeppe (2631) - Brooklyn, Alabama, USA - APR 17, 2005
Pours hazy dark orange with a thin greyish head. Strong apple aroma with hay notes. Mostly sweet. Apples, apples and apples in the flavor with hints of cinnamon. Quite sweet and full. Good, but very different. walleye (1101) - Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA - DEC 30, 2005
got this in a trade but I cannot rememer who sent it but thanks. poured a cider color with no head. aroma, apples, sweet, apples, apples some wheat, apples. flavor, just like apple cider with a little alcohol thown in. kind of tasted like a wine cooler. emptytankard (36) - Illinois, USA - MAR 16, 2006
Wonderful apple aroma. Mouthfeel and taste is more reminicent of fresh apple cider, not beer. The brown ale base used for this beer must be very very mild. None the less a refreshing and tasty brew. kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 18, 2006
12 oz bottle, via Styles. Pours a clear reddish amber under a small fizzy off-white head that faded quickly to a thin film. Aroma is a mix of a Brown Ale and apple cider. Slightly sweet caramel malt with a touch of chocolate malt. The apple is crisp and natural smelling. Flavor is more apple juice than beer, quite sweet with a nice crispness on the finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation,. slightly sticky mid swallow. A little cloying on the finish especially towards the end of the bottle. Overall, I liked this but I could see where some may not because of the sweetness. These guys know what to do with fruit!
