Thick, hazy light copper/orange pour. High carbonation. Sweet to sour apple aroma as the body warms. Very, very sweet and thin body. Much juicier than beer with a honey-like body. No significant finish, but a nice, thin coating is left on the throat. OhioDad (2492) - Hilliard, Ohio, USA - NOV 19, 2006
12oz bottle via trade with goldtwins! - Pours brown with not much head to speak of. Aromas of sweet caramel malts blended with apple cider. Flavor is much like apple cider. Somewhat tart yet smooth and easy to drink. A touch of brown sugar there too. Low carbonation and medium body with a somewhat sweet lingering finish.. esjaygee (3904) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 14, 2008
Appearance of apple cider with a thin white head that is gone faster than I can type this sentence. Aroma of apples, cinnamon and malt. Taste of apples, cinnamon, malt. Smooth and tart but a bit too much like apple juice. princesslala (131) - DENMARK - JAN 6, 2009
It pours a clear golden copper; effervescent, with a bubbly white head that quickly disappears. I’m not too sure what the difference is between an apple cider and an apple ale, but it tastes pretty similar, only a little lighter on the palette and the alcohol than the ciders I’ve tried. arrogantb (1402) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JAN 26, 2009
12oz bottle courtesy of ughsmash, light orange color, looks like apple juice. First whiff is apples and apple juice, surprise! Smells really sweet, not sure if I like it. Very strange taste, like the malts are wrestling the apples for control of the beer. Not a bad beer at all just very, very weird.

A very apple juice aroma. This is extremely heavy on the apple flavor. Almost more so than most ciders. Okay for a fruity beer, not great. BuckeyeBoy (7528) - Boise, Idaho, USA - MAR 15, 2009
Bottle (Unplugged Apple Ale) Pours out a crisp clear gold apple juice. Topped with no head. Just a very nice apple aroma. the Aroma was of sweet apples and a touch of spice. The tast was juice all apple juice all the time. Crazy sweet and a hint of spice. Thanks Toby bradlyc77 (226) - Sebastopol, California, USA - MAR 16, 2009
Bottle unplugged. Nice golden hue, aroma buttered popcorn and apple. Taste is apple juice/cider with some spice aftertaste. Not bad. OldMrCrow (2435) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUL 15, 2009

Clear gold like apple juice, big juicy apple aroma, flavor of apple juice all of the way through, not so much beer character behind it. Prickly, astringent mouthfeel makes it somewhat less refreshing than it otherwise could be; on the other hand, props for the <4% abv. Quite drinkable if rather straightfoward and rather concealing of its beer origins.
Went on a mad beer spending spree up in Madison and bought many New Glarus products. Pours a dark orange color with off white head. Smells of a cider beer and flavor is apple cider. Not a big fan of ciders but this is pretty decent.
