Poured from 12oz bottle, pours an orange amber with an off white head and a little bit of lacing in the glass, I have to admit, I like most beers in this style, but for the most part I hate "spice" or pumpkin beers so I was coming into this without a lot of expectations, aroma was a little more fruity than I was expecting, some banana and coriander mixed in with the cinnamon and spice, flavor has a little bit of the potpourri notes that I despise in spiced beers, but not over the top, good amount of ginger and cinnamon on the front end with a sweet malty finish, little bit of the vanilla from the oak as well. I was really expecting to completely hate this, but I don’t, I just don’t really like it enough to buy another 4 pack. Come on March, I need a different Thumbprint on the shelf.

Bottle - Caramel amber color with a thin light tan head. Nose is spicy, with ginger, cinnamon, and a little coriander. A little oaky sharpness and some malty sweetness. Taste is toffee caramel malt with a thick layer of cinnamon and allspice, along with a touch of ginger. Finishes dry and lightly woody, with more sweet bread malt. Thinnish body with some slickness and a good deal of carbonation. Pretty well-balanced for a beer like this, but the spiciness just isn’t quite my thing.

12oz bottle. Filtered orange-tan body. Thin off-white head. Not unlike a pumpkin beer in a lot of respects upon initial inspection, with some of those classic spice tones. Comes off pretty big, I’d think at least 9%. Really nice oak tones mellow it out, after awhile this really grew on me. Big, clean malt tones, caramel, vanilla. Exceptionally balanced stuff, very well done.

Pours clear amber with a good amount of bubbles that produce a lasting off white head. This beer has a strong oak smell with lots of spice. The toffee is there too. Tastes similarly to how it smells, with a stronger toffee presence from the malt. Medium body with a lingering oaky flavor. A very good spiced ale, warming and great for winter. This pours a golden amber color with a foamy, off-white head. The aroma has hints of coriander, banana, citrus, and other spices in the mix. The taste is smooth and clean with mild tastes of banana and spices that are very well blended. Finishes crisp and clean that is rather tasty and well made!

Pours a clear amber color with a finger of white head. Smells of toffee and spice. Very smooth finish with slightly noticeable alcohol, but it doesn’t take away from the quality. This beer tastes like it should be darker and not as translucent. Quality winter seasonal from New Glarus, perhaps it is the Winter Warmer that they really wanted to make.

12oz bottle from Downer Wine and Spirits. Pours a crystal clear reddish brown color with a thin tan head. Aroma is spicy, ginger, cinnamon, clove. Medium on the palate with soft, creamy carbonation. Flavor is sweet, malty, toffee, nutty, cinnamon, clove, light ginger, light vanilla and oak, with a sweet, cinnamon finish. I like a spiced ale every now and again, and this one is really nice.

Brilliant copper pour with off-white to tan head. Nose is pie spice and cinnamon with a fruity (pumpkin/apple-like?)/caramel component. Maybe some light vanilla/woodsy oak character. Flavor is moderate cinnamon and ginger with more fruit notes (apple/pear), caramel, and toffee. Lightly dry oaky finish. Faint vanilla with trailing peppery ginger and cinnamon. Very different. Glad Dan is trying new stuff.
