Cloudy bronze color. Smells like an mix of a Belgian ale with a hint of Apple. Not very spicy. Reminds me of a Trappist.

Brown color, lacing head that mostly fades quickly. Aroma has a fair amount of clove and cinnamon. Flavor is kind of a mess; boozy, sweet brown sugar and light spice, but the hops are in there too. It reminds me of a barleywine. I wasn’t crazy about this beer. ARH (1138) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JAN 9, 2015
UPDATED: FEB 2, 2015 12oz bottle, poured into a belgian tulip glass. Toffee is the initial aroma picked up, followed by a quickly rising then fading roasted note. Aromas of citrus, faint cake batter, and cinnamon and allspice come through in a second wave with a note of ginger that?s hidden in there. It?s aroma is mostly caramel by the end, with hints of wood. It?s a murky, yet effervescent orange-copper with a big, foamy, off-white head that reduces to foamy, soapy, and thick ring with large creamy island hoovering around the fuzzy surface, and a good, dense sheet lace along the glass. The taste is a balanced medium bitter and medium sweet. It?s creamy with a prickly carbonation, and a full body with notes of caramel, cinnamon, oranges, allspice, and ginger as it warms. There?s a warm alcohol note and juicy, sweet zest at the finish which quickly turns spicy and oaky with alcohol warmth. It?s crisp and leaves an aftertaste that?s a little dry, slightly astringent, and lingers with spiced apples, bread crust, and oak. bottleforager (3211) - Gray, Maine, USA - JAN 4, 2015
Bottle thanks to adnielsen ! Pours a rich amber color with two fingers of eggshell foam. Nose is warm spiced fruitcake, hint of banana, and some soft toasted malt and caramel. Palate is bready and soft. Nice layers of spice mingle with some toasted sweet malt, composted fruit and a tight little bitterness on the backend. Dragonfly1 (500) - Colorado, USA - DEC 28, 2014
Pours a clear caramel brown. Sweet rich aroma of cinnamon dried cherries and spice cake. Layered complex taste, hot at the finish. Caramel, almond, just sweet enough without being cloying. Pine needle at the finish. Bitter aftertaste. Body is perfect combination of sweet richness and just enough carbonation for balance. this is just terrific, perfect Winter Ale. Great work

Bottle @ Three Notch’d Tasting. Amber pour with a small head. Pretty spicy. Some ginger and nutmeg. Stewed apple and pear. Taste is a nice balance of spicy and sweet. Some bready malt and toffee. More apple. Medium body, soft carb. Forgettable. TH28 (483) - - NOV 22, 2014
Appearance is deep golden with a hint of orange, clear, with a thick white head. Aroma is an intense mix of oak, vanilla, citrus, cinnamon, ginger, and caramel. Taste starts with rich caramel and toffee and gives way to a woody, oak flavor with the addition of vanilla, cinnamon, and ginger. Mouthfeel is medium to heavy with a moderate carbonation and a strong alcohol warming. Finishes dry, with a lingering oak and vanilla flavor. Drake (14078) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 21, 2014
12 ounce bottle courtesy of AWISLguy and shared at a tasting, 10/6/14. Pours a clear amber with a large foamy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of heavy spice, including cardamom, ginger, clove and some banana notes. The taste is banana bread, ginger, clove. Medium bodied, mild lingering spice. 1FastSTi (3360) - Glendale, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 11, 2014
Original vintage. Pours to a deep rusty amber body with a tall and totally coating long lasting white head with some pretty nice lacing. Lots of visible carbonation cascades through the body. The aroma is caramel and toffee with cinnamon and allspice. The flavor is pretty sweet with a lot of caramel everywhere. Notes of nutmeg and earthy bark pop through. At times this reminds me of a cleaner version of Anchor OSA. Spice in this beer, however is much less apparent. Medium body finishes clean. Salmoniform (1281) - Sweet Home, Oregon, USA - NOV 1, 2014
Poured from bottle to glass. Orange copper hue with creamy off white head that lingered nicely. Aroma is clove, caramel, toffee, nutmeg. Mouthfeel is nice with a medium light body and crisp carbonation. Taste is dry sweetness followed by a spice and slight astringent finish. Overall this is a fun brew.
