Bottle - Pours lightly rosy amber with a big foamy white head. Toasted bready malt on the nose, with a bit of toffee sweetness and a touch of peat. Smooth, well-balanced taste, with the same bready maltiness, subdued caramel sweetness, some fruitiness (the grapes from canned tropical fruit?) and just a bit of boozy warmth on the finish. The finish is pretty bitter malty too, and lasts a long time in the mouth. Thinner than I expected, but smooth and with just the right amount of carbonation. Solid, and a much more season-appropriate beer than the Sam Adams Spring mix pack I saw--on January 4th--in the cooler. Doghair (464) - Illinois, USA - JAN 4, 2013
Dark amber with nice foam. Caramel earthy aroma with sone vanilla as it warms. Malty caramel with a light malt finish. Very nice. Moderate heavy mouthfeel with good carbonation. Very good beer.
More beer please...
