COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Indulge in our heady scotch ale. This "Winter Warmer" is a celebration of roasted toffee notes wrapped in rich tawny tones and toasty palate. Two months in the making insures an incredible silky finish. Scottish folklore tells that the first person to step over your threshold brings with them luck for the New Year. Simple gifts of coal for warmth, salt for prosperity and ale for joy symbolize the bearer’s wishes.

Bottle - Pours lightly rosy amber with a big foamy white head. Toasted bready malt on the nose, with a bit of toffee sweetness and a touch of peat. Smooth, well-balanced taste, with the same bready maltiness, subdued caramel sweetness, some fruitiness (the grapes from canned tropical fruit?) and just a bit of boozy warmth on the finish. The finish is pretty bitter malty too, and lasts a long time in the mouth. Thinner than I expected, but smooth and with just the right amount of carbonation. Solid, and a much more season-appropriate beer than the Sam Adams Spring mix pack I saw--on January 4th--in the cooler.

Dark amber with nice foam. Caramel earthy aroma with sone vanilla as it warms. Malty caramel with a light malt finish. Very nice. Moderate heavy mouthfeel with good carbonation. Very good beer. More beer please...
