caramel, alcohol, black, clear, rocky head, white foam, lightly bitter, medium body, slick feel, soft carbonation, 17thfloor (2443) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 11, 2014
This is fantastic. Body and appearance are basically perfect for style... the German-esque attention to detail makes this English-style beer really shine. Rich malt presence that is perfectly attenuated leaving a nice toasted sugar finish, light hopping that compliments the strong alcohol. Nice and nutty aroma. Color me impressed. I’m guessing lager temperatures are what is paying off here. gregwilsonstl (2452) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - JUN 4, 2014
Oh my. Delicious. Strong toffee. Buttered toast. Dark orange. Smooth. Thanks Erin, great Bday gift. Peppery. Headbanger (3989) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - MAY 13, 2014
23oz bottle 5/13/14 (Woodman’s-Waukesha)-46° in Shaker-Pours a hazy amber with a small off white head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, and spices. Taste of malt, spices, caramel, toffee, and alcohol. This full bodied brew is a nice sipping beer on a cold night. sitzds (318) - - APR 15, 2014
12oz bottle poured into rocks glass. Clear reddish copper with a tall white head that quickly fades. No lacing, but that may be the glassware. Spiced pear, malt, toffee, and clove. Taste is initially bitter earthiness followed by toasted malt, bread, and caramel sweetness, ending with alcohol spice and pear esters. Medium-light body, creamy texture, active carbonation, and a semi dry toasted finish.

Pours a light amber with lots of frothy head. Aroma is full with hints of toast, light fruits, and bits of malt goodness. Taste is sweet with a medium body and a slightly oily spicy finish. Overall a decent beer but I’ll always have a soft spot for Harpoon’s arnold931 (1263) - Iowa, USA - APR 3, 2014
Bottle. Clear and amber with a small, creamy, white head that dissipates quickly. Mild nose of toffee. Nice sweet flavor. Nice finish. DandyWolfFloyd (1202) - Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 23, 2014
c/o mnmike. Thanks again mike!
Aroma - Brettanomyces yeast, alcohol, some spices and a honey like quality
Appearance - orange body; liquid is clean, with lots of continuos nucleation; the head is huge about 2 1/2 " and of white the head takes some time to settle
Taste - is sweet, but not overly sweet. There is an alcohol quality also present that is a combination of a Brettanomyces like yeast, honey, toffee, and molasses.
Palate - body is medium; the texture is slick; the carbonation lively; the finish is a little boozy and just a touch bitter.

Aroma: toffee, caramel, some toasty grains, malty sweetness. Appearance: pours a slightly hazy copper color, off-white head with average retention. Taste: sweet malts, toffee and caramel, some dark fruit, warming alcohol but not hot or obnoxious. Low bitterness, fairly sweet finish. Palate: medium body, carbonation on the softer side.
