COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Indulge in our heady scotch ale. This "Winter Warmer" is a celebration of roasted toffee notes wrapped in rich tawny tones and toasty palate. Two months in the making insures an incredible silky finish. Scottish folklore tells that the first person to step over your threshold brings with them luck for the New Year. Simple gifts of coal for warmth, salt for prosperity and ale for joy symbolize the bearer’s wishes.

Pours golden orange with a thick frothy white head. Aroma is malt and light spice with a hint of caramel. Taste is malt, caramel, and nuts. It has the essence of a macrobrew. Unimpressive.

12 oz. bottle. Orangish amber pour with a big thick off white head. Aroma of toffee, caramel, toasted malt and some candied orange. Some cotton candy. Flavor is sweet, with a citrus balance. Full bodied, slick mouthfeel. This is interesting. Finishes with some booze. Yes, this is a warmer.

12 oz. bottle. Sour, yeasty, mineral-y aroma features lemon, toffee, salt, crabapple, and cigar tobacco scents. Pours a bright, effervescent copper. Mostly clear liquid but with some haze and cloudiness. Large amount of long-lasting, beige head. Produces good lacing. Sweet, floral, fruity taste features a cigar tobacco flavor and a dry finish. Long, dry aftertaste. Full body / thick. Reasonably lively in the palate. I’m normally not a big Scotch ale guy, but I did enjoy this one. 7/4/7/4/15=>3.7

Thanks, Adam! Cloudy light amber pour, at least lighter than one often gets with the style. Fluffy head, abundant lacing, and a nose that’s appealingly peaty and smokey. Mouthfeel is a touch thin, if I’m being picky. But the taste is very satisfying, hitting the marks with rich toffee and nuts, all backed up by a lovely, sublte smokiness.

2013 bottle Pours amber with nice head Caramel aroma with some vanilla as it warms. Malty finish. No legs though. Moderate heavy mouthfeel with good carbonation. Probably needs another 6 months

Pours dark hazy copper with nice white fluffy whitehead. Aroma is very nice sweet caramel with some fruitiness. Medium body with a smooth creamy texture and lots of carbonation. Some hoppy bitterness up front almost tingles on your tongue. Caramel / toffee little roasty and lots of spice almost peppery. And it does have a nice alcohol burn as the name implies. Not really like most scotch ales I have had, but I probably like it better than most Scotch ales I’ve had. Liked this quite a bit and hope it comes back in the future.

Bottle; Pour is murky golden / amber with a frothy / average head in this glass. Retention is average, with some sticky lacing here. The nose is fruit esters, caramel, sweet bread, and some herbals here. This one has an initial bitterness here from the hop profile, sticky sweetness, more fruit esters, caramel, toffee, sweetbreads. This one is really lacking for the scotch ale style, and the name winter warmer as well. Quite disappointed here
