COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hearty and full-bodied this is a Big bier. Brewed in the Reinheitsgebot tradition, our Bock comes by its mahogany hue naturally. You can expect this bier to be complex and smooth with deep chocolate and coffee undertones, complementing the rich bouquet.

Aroma of grape, plum, some chocolate, somewhat vinous. Appears a deep dark almost opaque brown, with a small brown head that dissipates. Flavor is of sweet stone fruit over chocolatey notes, with a slight hop finish; good though not well-balanced. Palate is thin and watery. Overall, this is a good brew, but somewhat less than the sum of its parts.

Ever since spotted Cow I've been a fan. Uff-Da have all the right notes without overpowering coffee, chocolate for the person that might want to get there feet wet with the DARK side of beer! Looking forward to drinking my second Uff-Da with the next spicy dish to compliment! Job well done! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Had a pint of this on the brewery tour. Bock is one of my favorite styles. A rich flavor and great body. Toffee and some chocolate. This has the characteristics of a authentic German bock. Some malt roastiness in the finish. Im rating this one from the bottle as I bought some from the brewery.

Thanks Danny Mom! Bocks arent always my thing but this is a really nice solid one. Caramel, mild roast. Balanced sweet and bitter. Creamy mouthfeel. Good stuff.

One of my favorite brews of all time, definitely a go to bock. Very sweet and smooth tasting, gets better and better as it warms up. No complaints whatsoever

This is good, but not over the top good. Lighter notes of fig, dates, and mild chocolate on the nose. Aroma for me is much lighter than expected. Lovely appearance. Beige creamy head dies a bit too quickly, minimal to no lacing. Flavor is watery dark fruit with tobacco. High alcohol content completely undetectable. Good, but for this style I expected far more from New Glarus. Bottle.

Aroma is Carmel Chocolate hints of figs. Amber in color. Has a malty taste kinda chewy on the palate. Another top 10 by the Brewery only available in Wisconsin.

Backlog, Bottle shared with PatrickFannon, Sampled during the Phils beatdown of the Mets. Pours brown red with a small to medium off white head. Aroma of plum, raisin bread, coffee, vanilla, bakers chocolate, rich malt, wood and light cinnamon. Taste is most of the same. Another nice beer from New Glarus

When conversation arises concerning American brewers who make exceptionally good German beers, New Glarus rightfully tends to be brought up in that conversation. Uff-da is one of the reasons New Glarus belongs in that dialogue. This is a rich, full-bodied Bock that pours a very dark brown and has a tan head. Malty, lightly smoky, and somewhat fruity nose. Flavor is complex, even for a big beer such as this. Chocolaty and syrupy malt, a subtle, smoky meatiness, dark fruits, and coffee. When you step away and look at all the taste profiles coming together, it all sounds a bit weird. However, this Bock is extraordinarily cohesive and approachable. Somehow, all the pieces fit.

From a bottle, pours a clear cola color with a tan head. The smell is caramel, molasses, dark bread. The taste is toffee, molasses, dark bread ending crisp and fruity. The body is medium and a touch oily with average carbonation.
