Bottled August 2010
A: pours a really neat cola ale with a single finger of light tan head which falls quickly to a centrally capped sheet of the same. Little/no lacing. Gotsta give some recognition here, man it’s brilliant, never seen a quad with this much clarity.
S: Malts are typical of a quad, sweet, nougat, some dark stone fruits, maybe a specific hint of prune. Yeast is there, subdued for the style, which is nice IMO.
T: Sweet and sweet. I really have a hard time here. Just seems like sweet, malty, belgian candy sugar. Some hints of earthy yeast.
M: Thin with moderate carb. Semi-dry finish. Expect a little more body here.
O: This beer looks great, unfortunately, it doesn’t stand out in the nose. The flavors are one-dimensional. The mouthfeel is unimpressive.

[ Trade by StFun ]. Clear medium to dark brown colour with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, oxidide malt, date, light to moderate yeasty. Flavour is moderate to light light heavy sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration, dark malt, light yeasty, dark berry - fruit notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
UPDATED: AUG 12, 2014 Bottle: Thanks, Jeff! Dark brown, deep shades of ruby with a muddled, soft gray tinted head. Aroma is sweet dates and prune juice, light phenols, some vinous grape sweetness, and a bit of molasses in the back. Taste is softer than most quads; touch of phenol, bit of prunes and a slight hint of black licorice. Some sweet molasses and a little bit of alcoholic grape in the finish. Decent quad, but this isn’t Dan’s best work. jmagnus87 (2912) - Rockford, Illinois, USA - AUG 31, 2013
Bottle. From notes. Rasins, chocolate, dark fermrnted fruits and some tart cherry. Very good. timfoolery (1126) - California, USA - AUG 26, 2013
Bottle from a trade as extra. Aroma is apple, grape must, and Belgian yeast. Flavor is missing that deep date flavor that exists in the best Belgians. Palate is great, carb. Good beer.

Dark Brown pour, with some toffee and figs with a little earth and fruitiness. Pretty good for this bottle’s age. reggiedunlop (3724) - The dub c, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 10, 2013
pours an opaque dark brown with ruby hues and a medium tan head. aroma has dark fruit...fig and plum...with some toffee and very faint wine. flavor is slightly less fruity and has laters of leather and earthy bitterness...hint of chocolate mouthfeel is medium/full and silky with a nice earthy/fruity/leathery finish that hints at chocolate and coffee. coolpop (1394) - Birmingham, Alabama, USA - JUN 28, 2013
Bottle. Poured dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma and flavor were molasses, cherry and other dark fruit, moderatly sweet, lightly sour, some dark chocolate. Full mouthfeel. Quite good but not as well integrated as Belgian abts. JStax (6502) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - JUN 22, 2013
Pours a dark brown. No head. Tastes sugary sweet. Aroma has plenty of sugars coming through. Really not my thing, I guess. TheHOFF43 (2052) - Robbinsdale, Minnesota, USA - JUN 7, 2013
Bottle. Pours a nearly transparent dark brown with tons of dark fruits on the nose. Some candied sugar, malt and a little alcohol rounds out this beer.
