4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Awesome fruit beer. Character of stout is muted due to extraordinary cherry and wild yeast flavors. More lactic acid style fermentation than barnyard, if you will. Strong sour cherry flavors, not terribly unlike the caramelized sugar booger you might pull off the edge of a cherry pie. My wife said it tasted like cough syrup. I disagree, better medicine than that for sure. Delicious!
Pours a deep reddish brown from 2017 bottle with bubbly khaki colored head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma of dark toasted bread, lightest of roast, slight chocolate, and light metallic fruitiness. Taste is way fruitier than I was expecting, but not like the metallic cherry nose. Sweet and toasty, jammy cherry chocolate, interesting. Light for a stout, but not bad at all. superspak (6015) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - NOV 2, 2017
12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 12/21/2017. Pours slightly hazy dark reddish brown color with a 2 finger dense and rocky light khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big juicy and lightly tart/tangy cherries, fruit skin, lemon, almond, caramel, brown sugar, chocolate, and toasted brown bread; with light notes of cocoa, coffee, vanilla, oak, herbal, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/bready/light roasted malts, cherries, and light fruity yeast/oak barrel notes; with great strength. Taste of big juicy and lightly tart/tangy cherries, fruit skin, lemon, almond, caramel, brown sugar, chocolate, and toasted brown bread; with light notes of cocoa, coffee, vanilla, oak, herbal, and yeast/toasted earthiness. Light fruit tang/tartness and herbal/roast bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy cherries, fruit skin, lemon, almond, caramel, brown sugar, chocolate, toasted brown bread, light coffee/oak, and yeast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready/light roasted malts, cherries, and light fruity yeast/oak barrel flavors; with a great malt/bitterness and tart/tangy fruit balance; with zero cloying flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from fruit tang/tartness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and lightly acidic/tangy/tannic/chalky mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6.5%. Overall this is an excellent fruit stout! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready/light roasted malts, cherries, and light fruity yeast/oak barrel flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mildly tart/tangy/drying finish. This is definitely different, but it works so well. Great balance of jammy cherries and a mildly roasty stout malt bill; with touches of wild yeast and oak. The mellow roast helps showcase the cherries a lot better. A really enjoyable offering. seymour (2120) - Maplewood, Missouri, USA - OCT 10, 2017
Poured from 12oz brown bottle into a nucleated schooner, an opaque dark reddish brown with sudsy beige foam, long-lasting with lots of sticky lace. Malty sweet, oasty, nutty, chocolatey, hint of light-roasted coffee, fruity with a huge dose of tart cherries, a little amaretto flavour presumably from the pits. Very subdued oak-essence, just a little lacto yogurty bite like a Flanders Red ale. Light body, above-average carbonation, lingering complex cherry and stout aftertastes. Absolutely delicious, thanks Dylan! Ahuth (665) - Illinois, USA - SEP 25, 2017

Lightly clouded mahogany brown, minimal tan head. Strong tart cherry and roasted nose. Some molasses. Decently tart, quite sweet. Medium to heavy body. Long finish. Excellent. akoeninger (775) - Wisconsin, USA - AUG 29, 2017
Muddy red in color. The nose is complex with cherries, oak, vinegar, chocolate. Taste is sour, tart, with hints of chocolate and cherry. Enough sweetness to stay drinkable. finishes tart and tingling with a long finish wlajwl (7068) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - AUG 18, 2017
Aroma is coffee, dark malts and a hint of cherries. The flavor is berries/cherries, fruit, mild coffee/dark malts and a sweet/slightly acidic/spicy finish. Low69caprice (100) - Yucca valley, California, USA - SEP 10, 2015
Black pour tan head cherries and coffe roast in aroma. Medium mouthfeel with cherries all in. Finishes stout like with cherries in finish. Broncowaldon (129) - Oceanside, California, USA - MAR 18, 2015
Awesome cherry aroma with some roast going on as well. Perfect stout characteristics with awesome cherry flavors. A perfect balance of the two!
