COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Complex and intriguing original. The mystery began with wild yeast spontaneously fermenting a rich treasure of malted barley and whole cherries. Unlined oak casks breathe deep vanilla hues and chords of smoke into this sour brown ale. Our Master Brewer has forged a smooth garnet tapestry that defies description. Wander off the beathen path.

Bottle 12fl.oz. @ home.

[ Courtesy of Secret Summer Santa ]. Clear matt medium orange amber colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, oxidide, tart berry, cherry, sweet something ? ive sayed vanilla - Charlotte say no ! light wood, light soured mild ! Flavour is heavy sweet and moderate acidic with a long duration, cherries, lacto, dry, woody. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. Initial is did not like the aroma - it was to much oxidide but after a bit of time it did like the aroma so it charged from 7 to 8 .. [20110909]

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a lazing light orange head. The aroma is sweet and acidic with light notes of wood and grapefruit. The flavor is very powerful with both sweet and acidic notes, as well as berries, wood, vanilla, and grapefruit, leading to a dry bitter end. The alcohol burns slightly on the tongue. The grapefruit note makes me think it is a new style: Imperial Flemish Sour - a flemish sour beefed up with American hops and stronger in alchol.

Bottle @ Chris_o. Pours a hazy amber color with a small off-white head. Spicy malty woody oak aroma with some sour fruitiness. Sweet malty spicy oaky flavor with hints of sour cherries. Sweetish and slightly vinious oaky finish. Very nice!

Bottled. Hazy amber colour, not much head. Aroma is coconuts, cookies, alcohol, grapes and some slight touch of caramel. Flavour is sweet fruits, malts, caramel, alcohol and some plum. Though the sweet fruits, the overall is quite sour. Wellbalanced, and quite easy-to-drink. Very pleasant thing! WOW!

Bottle from HogTownHarry drunk at Chris_o’s HogTownHarry meet up. Sour up front. Like a Napa Valley oaky aorma, bit of vanilla. Some sourness continues. Good strawberry sour fruit in mouth. Nice pippyness. Then I had to run for the train.

12 oz. bottle, sent from Glouglouburp (thanks a lot, Dany), pours a filthy reddish brown with a small beige head. Nose is full of tart cherries, apple cider vinegar, oak barrels and subtle notes of vanilla. Flavour is much the same, bringing out loads of apple cider vinegar, fairly tart cherries, accentuated beautifully by the oak barrels, which provides a lovely wood and vanilla quality to it. Mouthfeel is vinegary, but also fairly thick, with all notes in great balance. This beer has aged beautifully over the 6+ years. Really well-balanced, with not too extreme tartness. Reminds me of the amazing Cuvee de Tomme by Lost Abbey, though not as complex. All in all, excellent stuff.
