3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. This was quite a bit different than most saisons I have had for it was packed full of complex flavors. Pour was medium golden with a strong aroma of lemon, earthiness, peach, and some herbs. Flavors were robust with sour fruitiness, sweet malt, some lemon spicy characters, and then an earthy barnyard-type finish. This was really a complex brew. I’ve tasted a few saisons before, but if they all could taste like this, I would like the style quite a bit more.
Bottle from the rotter. Pours a murky reddish-brown with a small off white head. Nose is malt and honey with some paper oxidized notes. Light rose-like esters. Taste is a garbled mess of super high alcohol and sucrose to the point of diabetes. Weird phenolics of mint, followed by a chest burning alcohol. Looks like this one didn’t hold up well if it was ever that good at all. Gross slowrunner77 (13603) - Reno, Nevada, USA - OCT 4, 2014
"mostly yeast, fruit (apricot, peach) and a little funk in the aroma. bright orange with big fluffy white head. well carbonated and lively. flavors fruity as well, with a little tang to it. reminded me more of a BSA than any saison. a touch of warming alcohol lingers. less tart, getting lemony sour as it warms. overall nice n unique, maybe a little too much going on...like the oaked sour porter. good, not great." bhensonb (16251) - Woodland, California, USA - JUL 28, 2014
Bottle from Bu11zeye. Pours amber with a slight off-white head. Aroma is a little cooked caramel. With fruit. Med body or so. Flavor is a bit cooked caramel and some lightly sour fruit. Not quite dry. Malt tends to obscure a bit of earthiness. May be over age. Comes out finally like sucking a peach pit. marcus (11061) - Sacramento, California, USA - JUL 28, 2014
Bottle shared by bhensonb. Pours amber with an attractive beige head and a fruity aroma. There is also a fermented peach flavor with some strange spice and esters. Unique. DrSilverworm (10000) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUN 4, 2014
12oz bottle, thanks to alexsdad06 for sharing... Probably a 4 year old bottle. Yeah, it’s tasting off... A bit of oxidization here up front. This is likely my only chance to try this, so may as well rate... Clear red orange color. Thin off-white head. Loose bits of lace. Lots of dark fruit, raisin in the nose. Raspberry preserves, fig. Get some of the apricot in the smell. Some oxidization up front, but that fades away pretty quickly, palate gets accustomed to it. There’s some good mild sour taste, lightly spicy, moderate bitter, light sweet taste. Dark fruit in the flavor, some interesting belgian yeast / spice character. Finishes with a sort of musty dry kind of papery flavor, but it doesn’t ruin the beer. There’s a lot to appreciate here still. It’s a very unique, interesting saison, that much is very clear. Just a light nice bit of heat on the back end. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of crisp, lighter carbonation. Lightly dry finish. Looking past the oxidization... It’s pretty solid, interesting stuff. A unique, enjoyable experience. Thanks, Brad, for the chance to try this.

Bottle. Pours hazy copper with a white head of foam. . Tastes estery and fruity. Sweet and bready. Nice for the style. madbeerbaron (87) - madison, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 9, 2013
More tart than most saisons, sweet smell, orange-brown in color. Really enjoyed this as a beer buts its probably not the best example of a saison. Thanks to madvike for this one.
