COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A custom blend never to be replicated, Blue Sunday celebrated our “11 Years in Beer” in grand fashion. It has a surprisingly crisp body with tart, cherry-like notes and a malty sweetness in its finish.

This is the 2008 release available in 750 ml bottles at the brewpub.

750ml bottle. Pours a muddy brown with a decent head and lacing. Too over-carbonated for my tastes and takes away from the overall experience and flavour. Decent use of cherries, but a bit too much specialty malt is involved. Odd funk character with some acidity and green apple. Very ordinary and a bit “off”.

Corked bottle from Brewpub.. Poured dark brown color with a large fizzy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy sweet citrus earthy aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture. Medium sweet malty flavor with a moderate sweet & sour finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations where met with a beer that may need some age to blend and balance.

Bottle shared by notalush. Pours a tawny brown with a large head. Pleasant fruity aroma with both sweet and sour notes. The flavor is again fruity and lightly sour. Dries out considerably at the finish. Very effervescent. Glad I tried it, but probably not something I would revisit.

Bottle split between 4 guys. Uncaged and cork shot off without any help from me. Enormous fizzy white head that took 5 minutes to finally die down. A little funk with some sourness in the nose, and a balanced taste of the same. A little bit of cherry in it as well. I think if they left this out of the oak it would be better, one of those rare occasions where it didn’t need it. Decent, but you’ve gotta support it for the beer on Sunday cause!

Bottle. Aroma of sweet oak, dark sourish earth. Flavor sour-tart-bitter earth with tart red fruits, somewhat interesting. Ok.

Bottle shared by notalush. Pours a mahogany brown with a HUGE tan head. Flavor is oaky and bourbony. Flavor of some sourness and LOTS of barrel (bourbon). Not a fan.

Thanks to Drewbeerme for sharing this beer. Dark brown with a lot of red tint and big long lasting creamy beige head, big bubbles. red fruit aroma with cranberry, sweet, sour, very fruity. Flavor is red fruit sour and tanginess like rotten fruit or blood orange. Medium body and sour. Okay, rotten fruit throws me though.

400th United States Rating: Poured from a 750ml caged and corked bottle and served in a tulip. This beer poured a dark cola brown with a huge, fizzy, light tan head that would not fade. A small amount of lacing was left around the glass. The aroma of the beer was made up of oak and sour cherries. The flavor consisted of lightly sour cherries and dark fruit, a hint of caramel, and also some wood. A bit bland. Not all that sour. The mouthfeel was fizzy and medium-bodied. Not really much going on with this one. Decent.

22oz bottle thanks to drewbeerme for sharing this at last weekend’s tasting.... pours a dark brown, almost like a light porter with a thin soapy white head.... sour, not tart aroma. almost like some spoiled pineapple which didn’t make it all that enjoyable....flavors were of sour muted fruit without anything too distinguishable. def a sour unlike any i’ve had before.

(750ml bottle, thanks ryan) Fluffy large beige head atop clear dark brown body. Aroma is medium sweet, sour cherry, some wood, light butterscotch. Taste is moderately sweet, sour cherry, caramel, and light wood that gets stronger in the aftertaste. Effervescent medium body.
