Pours red with a billowy tan head. Wonderful aromas of funk, black pepper, orange zest, burlap, hay, and wood. Flavor is incredibly smooth, initial malty warmth smoothly becomes progressively sour as wood esthers, dark fruit, burlap, soil, and common wood sorrell (sour clover), with a going-away cheese-like funk and a sweet tart moment, leading to a grassy finish. The most interesting aspect is how it transitions slowly and smoothly into each moment on the palate, with no abruptness between profiles. Incredible.

2012 bottle shared. Thanks John C! Pours a deep copper with a small head. Big oak-forward nose, light cherry aromas. Tart cherry and faint vinegar on the palate with cherry pit, wood and vanilla coming out as it warms. Tart, lingering woody and oaky finish. Really nice.

Earthy, barnyard funk, under ripened blueberries. Tart, sour, very mild vinegar. Excellent sour.

Draft, 5 oz pour at Hop and Hound, Bothell. Staring at the bottle of this for weeks, I’m relieved to find it on draft. Unlike my buddy luttonm in his rating, I’ll spare some of the super in depth, obscure, perspicacious analysis on this particular potable. Dark copper pour with a thim film head. Black cherry, tart constant aroma. Flavor is a juicy and jammy raspberry and blackberry tart, with some black cherry. A slight malt linger, but buried by the tart berry content. A sipper of a sour, but it seems to get better as it warms. Some grape reminder in the late linger. Minimal oak impression though it is there. Nutty hints. Flavorful, and quite tasty. Miles ahead of what it was after the very first sip. Sit on this one and give it a chance. I really enjoyed this.

At Whole Foods. Pours dark cherry with no head. Aroma of sour blueberries. Taste of fizzy cherry/ blueberry mild sour tartness. Reminds me of almost sweet tarts with Oak aged sour beer aged for 51 weeks. Launches 1 time a year. I appreciate the effort but not for me. ---Rated via Beer Buddy

Blue Sunday 19, 2016. Pour is a clear deep ruby brown with an average off white head that leaves decent lacing as it shrinks. Aroma is sour stone fruit, blueberries, oak, and a bit of sugary sweetness. Taste is blueberries, blueberry pie, lactic acid, oak, and dark sour stone fruits. Creamy at first with a little bit of puckering acidity that blends with some sweetness.

Aroma roasty, woody, blueberry, tart. Appearance is brown, light brown, mostly clear. Taste is barrel, blueberry, malt, dry, good. Mouthfeel is light to medium body, light crisp carbonation, sour woody blueberry aftertaste. Overall, meh.

750mL bottle, pours a deep dark amber with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out balsamic, cherry tartness and light funk - fairly acidic. Flavour is fairly acidic but not too much, with balsamic, cherry tartness and light funk. Balsamic and acidic finish. Nicely constructed. Really good.

UPDATED: AUG 7, 2016 Pours a hazy copper red from the bomber with thin bubbly white head that dissipates to leave light lace. Aroma of blueberry sweetness, light lactic sour, hint of oaky funk. Taste is fairly sweet, but nice lactic acidity still there. Soft carbonation, great for the price point.

Notes from summer. Pours a blueish copper. Aroma and taste are tart blueberries, oak, and a dry finish.

Bomber 2016 vintage. Light grape juice. Blueberry, but without any blueberry tartness or sourness. Very light lacto sourness. Somewhat metallic aftertaste.
