On tap at the Bavarian Lodge, Lisle, IL.
Aroma:Spicy Belgian yeast notes.
Appearance:Medium amber in color, very little head, good lacing.
Taste:Moderate malt sweetness in the front, along with some light hop spicyness. The honey flavor in this beer is subtly present in the foretaste and the midtaste. The aftertaste is amazingly nutty.
Palate:Very smooth, medium-light body to this beer, nice carbonation. Even though it’s 8.47% ABV, there is very little alcohol warmth.
Overall:This is a fantastic beer that’s very easy to drink. It’s very pleasant. With a name like beerhive, I was afraid they would overdo the honey in this beer, but they made it subtle enough that it blends in nicely with the other flavors.

Delicious with a truckload of honey and well-disguised alcohol, distinct but still noticeably classic. Cybercat (5835) - Georgia, USA - OCT 9, 2013
Pours a clear brownish amber bordering on chestnut with a thick and mostly fine-bubbled pale buff head. Aroma has a malty base and strong coriander and honey overtones, plus a nice ginger note. Flavor floods the palate with malt, honey, ginger, coriander (or something like it) and earthy tones. Satisfying and lip-smacking! Texture is firm and smooth, and though not fizzy it leaves a flavorful finish with malty, honey and ginger notes that remain long after the beer has gone downstairs. A very strong aroma of honey with touches of bubblegum and followed by some warm ginger. Appears clear copper with a few streams of rising carbonation, swirls of off white foam play on the surface and touces of lace grace the glass. Taste is very honey, sweet, but balanced with acidic and bitter ginger with some gentle bready malt on the end.palate is light and fizzy, nice. Overall, this is a great beer, I plan to buy more, if I can find it! thedm (6184) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - AUG 18, 2012
This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a large sized head of foamy finely sized light tan colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a softly carbonated transparent red brown colored body. The nice aroma was candy and malty. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start mediumly tingly at the finish. The flavor contained notes of crystal malt Irish red malt and hops. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.

Im surprised this isnt rated higher. The ginger & honey are tasty in beer, would like to find something similar... But I doubt it’d compare rodj69 (4) - Independence, Kentucky, USA - MAR 30, 2015 does not count
A good beer that comes as described. Love the balance of the ginger and honey as together it does help to deliver a nice earthy beer. The taste brings with it thoughts of this being a good beer to enjoy outside around nature. Good copper hue and a nice smooth finish. ddemmingjr (800) - Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA - AUG 8, 2010
Pours a hazy amber orange with a frothy head receding to a thin ring. A floral nose with sweet honey and earthy notes.Lively carbonation makes this beer lighter on the palate. Not a terribly long finish but leaves you wanting more. punkrkr27 (903) - Berkley, Michigan, USA - AUG 13, 2010
Copper pour with a big, three-finger, white head. Lots of sweet malt in the aroma lending soft notes of toffee and caramel. There’s also lots of the classic sweet banana and clove Belgian esters. The ginger is present but subtle along with some faint clover honey and spices. The flavor is warm, spicy and sweet upfront with lots of classic Belgian esters. Earthy, sweet malty toffee in the middle. Finishes with some slight ripe banana and then a kick of sharp, slightly bitter ginger. Creamy, full mouth feel with lots of carbonation. Nice complexity but a tad muddled. Still a nice take on the style. dimenhetfield (2486) - , Florida, USA - JAN 16, 2011
750ml bottle. Light brown color with a thin bubbly head. Slight spotty lacing. Aroma has a good amount of honey, ginger, lemon and malt mixed together. Flavor is a little sweet but has a good amount of honey and lemon in there. Malt is present on the back end, makes for a good backing.
