Little Johns local bees create a spring wildflower-honey that lends a sweet, earthy complexity to a traditional style of beer (triple) with a balancing snap of ginger in the finish.

Aroma is very earthy and nutty, with a touch of ginger there if you really look for it. Pours a clear ruby red, with a thick white head. The honey is very noticeable, the ginger... not so much. This beer is very much on the sweet side of things, with just a bit of the spiciness in the finish. Its a bit syrupy on the palate, but it doesnt reach cloying levels of sweetness. An interesting beer, and one I may pick up just to try to pair up with a dessert course.

650 ml.2013 bottle served in a Belgian snifter. Lightly hazy dark amber with semi-durable head. Aroma: floral notes; a hint of honey, bubblegum, biscuits and faint citrus. Flavor: sweet baked bread, honey, faint citrus and wheat. The ginger is subdued and barely shows even in the aftertaste. A bit sweet, as expected. Feel: Medium body; medium-low carbonation. O: honey is subdued but pervasive, being evident in the nose and taste, and even seeming to lend a hand in coloration. Compared to my hopes for this beer, it is slightly high in sweetness and a bit low in complexity.

A good beer that comes as described. Love the balance of the ginger and honey as together it does help to deliver a nice earthy beer. The taste brings with it thoughts of this being a good beer to enjoy outside around nature. Good copper hue and a nice smooth finish.

a bit like an abbey but with an infusion of ginger and blossom honey that marginally works. thinner dry carbonation and lighter body and an extra hit of ginger in the finish.

Rated on 7-30-2012 (Bottle) The appearance is a small semi-fizzy ivory head with a short retention, transparent amber body, very fizzy, fast rising carbonation, and one ring of lacing. The aroma is honey, ginger, spice, fruity, floral, and earthy. The flavor is sweet, malt, earthy, fruity, and honey. This beer has a dry finish. The mouthfeel is smooth, watery and thin. This beer is medium bodied. This beer is easy to drink given the ABV which is hidden. It is very light bodied for the style along with a very dry finish. This beer is worth trying.

Bottle: Burnt amber, moderate copper tones with lots of upward racing bubbles; thin, off-white had with decent retention but nothing in the middle. Aroma is characteristically tripel, though with more sweetness in the form of clover honey & Candi sugar, giving off that rich, deep, almost plum-like sweetness. Spices, fruity esters, earth, & a phenolic sting. Lots of white peppery & yeast laden spice on the palate. Touch of apple skin tartness & sweetness, also some white grape. Lots of bread, spicy yeast, biscuits, & a big finishing sweetness of honey, clove, & Candi sugar. Ginger. Wow, lots of ginger comes out with warmth. Big-time ginger root finish by the end of my glass. Some phenolic alcohol & slight medicinal tones clash with the awkward sweetness. A sipping beer, for sure. Its okay, but not great.

Deep gold. The aroma of ginger is prominent. Taste - as expected, honey and ginger. Thick, oily texture. Malty. Low hops. This is pretty good but the ginger just overpowers. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap - big foamy head, nice medium copper/amber color, fruity ester aroma and flavor, sweet malt and honey backbone, fair hop balance - pretty good overall ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
