4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
This is what a black IPA/ Cascadian Dark Ale should be. Deep Brown, almost black color. A little head, not much. Aromas of deep caramel, burnt sugar, and earthy hops. Perfect balance in flavors, not too roasty to battle with the hops, slight bitterness from grains match perfectly with the hops in the finish. I could drink this all day. Balanced, complex. Had with Chipotle sausages and Avacados! Excellent
22oz bottle. Pours black with a big frothy tan head. Nice IPA with more malt flavors than a lot of the others in this black IPA style. Easy drinker, not too complex but very enjoyable. PorterPounder (7970) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - OCT 31, 2015
Atlanta, Ga. - some random convenience store near Druid Hills - 22 oz bomber - bargained price at $5.99. Dark black pour, nice thick khaki colored head with decent lace. Aroma has some fresh dirt, a hint of chocolate. Flavor brings some bittersweet citrus, some licorice notes, a touch of chocolate, topsoil in the back end. Nice chalky mouthfeel. Pretty decent. Chocolate and dark. Very calm....simple finish. I like a little more bite on the finish, but I like it. I would consider it again.

Large bottle consumed at home in pint glass. Black with a little bit of a dark brown element. Tannish frothy head...about half a finger. Aroma reminds me of chocolate milk...almost a stout like quality. Taste follows suit leaning away from traditional black IPAs with a softer mouthfeel and a stronger roasted malt flavor. Bitterness comes through towards the end but it feels muted. It’s a little boring overall. There are much better black IPA options available. rondphoto (4448) - Lakeside Park, Kentucky, USA - MAY 5, 2015
bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Opaque Black/brown color, heavy beige rim head, curtains of lace. Aroma of dark malt. Taste is straight toasted malt that adds light carbonation on the swallow before turning to hops in the finish. Uncomplicated, but full-bodied, and a riot at 5.5%abv. I like it. Recommended.

All three New Holland "Hatter" bombers were vegetal - old maybe? This is pretty "meh" to me. There’s just not much black in this black IPA. Just a little at the end. jbrana (640) - NASHVILLE, Tennessee, USA - APR 11, 2015
Not a style that I am particularly fond of... This one is not bad though. Tastes a bit like black tee. Bitter, light citrus, and roasty notes. AndyW68 (1542) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - MAR 22, 2015
Not bad. Near black pour with dense tan head. Aroma is roast malt, but kind of plain. Taste is roasted malt and hops. Ok. johnnymusky (983) - Minnesota, USA - JAN 15, 2015

Bomber - pours nice cola color and medium head that dissipates but laces the glass. The aroma is slightly unbalanced with more citrus and pine than roasty char. Great layered hop presence but not as much burnt flavor as is needed. Delicious but not outstanding. Great for the price of $5
