COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Robust in character yet smooth in delivery, Cabin Fever is a roasty brown ale and a hearty, comforting companion for long, mind-bending winters. Its rye, roast and raisin notes play off a subtle caramel sweetness and culminate in a dry finish. Excellent with roasts, stews, caramelized onions and snowfall.

Pours a rich medium brown opaque with a nice head of tan bubbles that disappear moderately quickly. Nose is dry and maybe some odd scents. Medicinal? Taste is more of the odd medicinal taste that is somewhat sweet and slightly off. Some nut in the finish. Not sure if this beer is bad or old. Will re-review if i sample again.

Deep dark chestnut hue under a thin very sticky light beige head. Earthy roasty aroma with a little chestnut and dry bready malt. Smooth and nutty flavor that’s earthy and slightly acrid with a slightly cocoa’d finish. Plain and dark and earthy and toasty and medium bodied.

Pours dark and head goes non existent very quickly. Subtle taste and aftertaste that reminds me of porters but lacked any memorable qualities. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On Tap clear deep chocolate brown. Thin fine light tan head. Standard chocolaty light roast malt aromas. Middle of the road light roast flavors. Pleasant but plain.

12oz. Bottle (marked 10/16/17): Pours dark brown w/ a small light brown head. A quick swirl livens things up a bit, but the head quickly falls away again leaving blotchy lacing behind. Aroma holds a fair amount of chocolate, caramel, and a hint of dark fruit/spice. As the beer is warming some roasted malt is starting to pop in the aroma. Flavor mimics the aroma & also has a heavy roasted component with some hop bitterness. A little thin, nicely carbonated, dry finish & leaves behind a sugary sticky feeling. Not sure I'd pursue this one again, it's okay, but there are better browns out there.

12 oz. bottle. Bottled 09/18/17. Pours a thin, well retained, light beige head, with miniml lacing, over a clear dark brown (SRM 30) body.......nose is cocoa, mild chocolate, light toffee/caramel, all from the malts, minimal hop spice, balance to the malts........taste is very mildly sweet, moderate cocoa, slight toffee/caramel, vanilla tones, finishing with mild hop bitterness, balance to the roasted malts........mouth feel, medium slightly sticky body, no alcohol, high carbonation. This falls well into the broad category of Brown Ales, but the hop contribution is low for an American Brown. BJCP 8/2/10/4/6

Attractive & creamy! Pours dark brown w/ a head & great lacing. The aroma contains caramel & soft hazelnut. The flavor is nutty, slight caramel, & a bit of bitterness. It has a really nice feel on the palate & is overall a good brown!
