3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a clear deep chestnut under a fleeting off-white head.
Fresh berry aroma.
The flavor is lightly sweet on the front with tart berries coming in at the back along with some alcohol.
Amber(ish) body with ruby and crimson highlights. Small head that quickly fades. Aromas of wood, berries, funk, oak, stone fruit, leather, earth. Clash of flavors. This isn’t working. Interesting and intriguing, but this is in need of a few tweaks. Narnad (1521) - Crystal Lake, Illinois, USA - MAY 17, 2015
2012 bottle. Found at a local store on clearance. Pours a very clean yellow color with a very fleeting white head. Brew was very effervescent overall. Flavor of pear, oak, touch of bread notes and some light white grapes at the finish. The tartness is present through the entire tasting and lends a nice addition to the above flavors. Nose on the brew is very light with an overall tart sweetness to the brew. Body id light, crisp and slightly puckering. Overall not a bad brew. The beer goes down very easy. I think I might have to grab the rest of these bottles for home. Jfletch (9) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - APR 20, 2015 does not count
Vintage 2010. Poured from bomber to wine glass. Aroma was very interesting. Definitely get the pear and raisin. Appearance is dark purple with a touch of brown. Tastes very much like an port wine with sparkling water in it. Raisins and grapes come through immediately. There is some pear in there as well. Slightly dry finish. Overall, not a bad effort. Would do well as a dessert beer. BroxBottom (5) - - FEB 27, 2015 does not count
2010 vintage. Amazing aroma! Smells like raisins with a similar smell to a kriek lambic. Pours a near opaque mahogany. It tastes kind of creamy, subtle hints of a honeywine. Overall, very delicious. EKGoldings (668) - Radford, Virginia, USA - FEB 14, 2015
Bottle, 2012 edition. Pours red-brown, good clarity despite the darkness. Smell is stewed dark fruit, dark malt, some fruit. Taste is initially dark malt and fruit, followed by some acidity and fruit. Somewhat astringent finish. Wood is not obvious to me. Interesting beer but one that isn’t a standout.

From the January 2014 3R6P tasting +++ Sampled from a 750 ml brown bottle this beer poured a black color with red highlights and a medium sized foamy red-tan head that faded and left minimal lacing. The aroma was chocolate, vague berries and vanilla cream. The flavor was cocoa, malt, malted milk, vague berries, vanilla cream and soy sauce. Medium length finish. Moderately full bodied. Odd. Bottle to glass. Pours a murky deep but brown slightly reddish color with a light tan head. Aroma is slightly boozy, thick sugar. Strong sugary flavor with fruit juice. Not at all expected. OK. Nothing special. Funknmilla (751) - WAYNE, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 26, 2014

Bottle via Lawson. Pours a dark, opaque reddish brown/black. Little bit of tan head. Aroma sweet and fruity, maybe some lacto, oakiness. Body full and sweet, with lots of raspberries and oak in the finish, not much evidence of pear or Chardonnay yeast. Nice. Sparky (2244) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - JUL 31, 2014
2011 backlog. Bomber – 2010 vintage. Pours hazy amber with a thin head. The nose is grapey, malty and boozy. The taste is pretty much the same. Lots of boozy grapes. Medium bodied. Interesting brew. 3.4
