Nice aroma, looking forward to taste this imperial stout. The hefty alcohol percentage is overpowering, a bit too sweet, with a taste of liquorice. Comments form my wife (or Azzurro +++): 'it lingers in the mouth'. zoltomar (3) - - JAN 27, 2018 does not count
My mind is confused when I smell this beer and hard liquor pops up, but the taste is divine.

UPDATED: FEB 2, 2018 Pours dark brown with a good tan lacing. Nose is lots of oak and chocolate. Flavor is a smooth and balanced blend of chocolate, coffee and cream, oak, and just a touch of alcohol. Finish is fairly short and sweet. Very good. I've had this off and on for many years and always been impressed. This time it's in a 4-pack of 12 oz bottles/ Pours near black with brown head and lace. Aroma of dark malts, bourbon, cocoa. Medium carbonation and significant mouthfeel. Flavors of dark malts, dark chocolate, whiskey, minerals, peat, and wet rag. Overall rich, bold, hardy and tasty. Always a tasty treat. 17Beer (463) - Connecticut, USA - JAN 2, 2018
12 oz bottle. Big scents of chocolate and bourbon with the alcohol showing in the nose. Pours an opaque brown with a thick brown head that dissipates over time. Sheets of lacing. Sweet and warming flavors of alcohol, cheery and a little smoke. The sweetness lingers a little too much. Lots of character but not quite under control. Very oily mouthfeel and a little cloying in the finish. StoutBeerReviews (299) - Kenosha, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 28, 2017
U kno, this is really good stuff right here. maybe ive warmed up to barrel aged imperials since the last. nice strong bite up front and a warming sweetness that lingers as it goes down. its woody and roasty with a bit of vanilla sweetness to round it off. ttoadee (1684) - Austin, Texas, USA - DEC 24, 2017
Black pour, shadow of a tan head. Nose is vanilla, bourbon, and coco. It is like velvet across the tongue; oak, vanilla, blackened malt, bourbon, and chocolate. Finish is bittersweet and long. Powerful beer.
