Live rate sampled at the brewpub. Belgian farmhouse yeast was definitely utilized for this brew. Strong creamy Belgian yeast characteristics sweet and doughy with citrus and an earthiness. Citrus fruity sweet flavors spices. Slight funk, earth and alcohol with the spice in the finish. The bubblegum and alcohol show themselves more as it warms. It gets more and more messy and less enjoyable. mtjoseph (244) - Murderapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUN 4, 2011
Bomber. Pours a golden orange with a decent sized white head. Really big perfume notes on the aggressively hopped nose with some floral presence in the back. An effervescent, dry body follows with a lot of minerals, earthy hops, light fruit (pear maybe?), and fresh cut grass. Hoppy upfront, weird middle palate, and dry fast finish. Worth trying for $4.99, but nothing special. GandGKevin (934) - Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA - JUN 9, 2011
Floral aromas. Very light bodied. Floral flavors. Finishes with belgian yeast flavors. Overall very summery. onedawger (60) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 24, 2012
Light unclear medium orange colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate to heavy hoppy, orange - citrus, apricot, moderate yeasty, tropical fruit, apricot, funky. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light moderate bitter with a average to long duration, funky. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. maxwelldeux (4374) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - OCT 3, 2012
Bottle. More IPAish than Belgian, which makes me like it more. Slight hoppiness to the nose and taste, though it’s balanced somewhat with a hint of sweetness. Not bad.

On tap at New Holland on our way to RBSG. Pours a clear gold, a little watery looking, with a thin white head. Fuzzy hops, a bit of musk. Weird sweet plastic falvors, tingly odd flavors to it. Long bitter f inish, something off here, but I’m not sure what. corby112 (2804) - philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 14, 2011
Pours a slightly hazy, dark golden orange color with a two finger frothy off-white head that slowly settles into a lasting ring. Large chunks and streaks of soapy lacing left behind.
Floral, earthy aroma with lots of citrus fruit and zesty spice. There’s a slight pine presence but the nose is dominated by the peppery spice and sweet fruit notes. Hints of pepper and coriander along with some mango, grapefruit and orange peel. Some pale malt underneath. I was expecting it to smell a bit funkier because of the saison yeast but the nose is more reminiscent of a west coast IPA with an estery Belgian yeast twist.
Medium bodied with a blast of dry, bitter hops up front that dominate the flavor and linger into a bone dry finish. Earthy with lots of soily pine flavor as well as some citrus/light fruit. The nose had me expecting a strong citrus hop flavor but it was pretty faint and overpowered by the drier, bitter notes. Hints of grapefruit and orange peel but nothing that would suggest that this is a farmhouse beer or that any saison/farmhouse yeast was used. I was pretty disappointed in the lack of this characteristic and the overall lack of complexity. mikem409 (2026) - bloomfield, Michigan, USA - JUN 26, 2012

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2014 Tap at Happy Gnome. Clear golden pour with a white clingy head. Soft farmhouse funk, palate is a touch bland. Just okay. Vir4030 (603) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 31, 2011
Farmhouse funk. Yeah, that’s right. Decent in ways and others not. Too sour for instance. Nice brown tan IPA color. Nice head too.
