Draft pint at Bavarian Lodge. Darker copper than your average IPA. Nice stiff topper of foam. Smell is what you want in an IPA, too. The description doesn’t mention the varietals of these Michigan hops, so I’m free associating citrus with a hint of mint and earth. More beerlike than the sweetness I had the two ratings previous, what definite hop profile and tingly bubbles. Not that the word "mint" is in my head, I keep associating it with the taste, almost like liking an envelope. Well, you’re either a hophead who demands pine tar and catpiss, or an adventurer who digs any iteration of the lupulin gland. If it’s in a beer, I’ll drink it! drpimento (3634) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 16, 2011
Served with a nice, foamy, frothy tan head that slowly settles down and plenty of lace. Color is a crystal clear honey amber with a few slow, large bubble traiis. Aroma is hop, malt, little caramel & fruit. Flavor is simiilar to nose with hop on top, then fairly dry malt, some carbonic tang, and bit of fruit. Body and carbonation are good. Finish is like flavor with nothing off and of average length. A little light in the hops for an IPA; more like a PA. Drinkable all the same. monkeychugg55 (1090) - Joliet, Illinois, USA - NOV 15, 2011
Darkish copper body with a small, sticky, white head. The nose is mostly floral hops with some bold, grainy malt. The flavor is somewhat subdued, with the peppery, floral hops, and caramel malts. Pretty clean tasting but not at all watery. Pretty mild but good. Frank (4193) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 15, 2011
This is a decent milder IPA with a great nose but a bit lacking in flavor and bite. It is citric in character and pours a nice orange color with a minimal head. Light but slightly creamy texture keeps it drinkable, which is nice, but a bit more bitterness in the finish would make it moe satisfying as an IPA.

12oz bottle. pours out amber/tan color with off white/cocoa head. some lacing but i have seen better. the aroma is a bit off you can smell the hops but its not overpowering at all...quite the opposite more subtle. for me the hop flavor just seems to be lacking in some quality, not able to pinpoint why. no real floral or citrus flavors just kind of bland hops.. 86Moose (62) - - NOV 13, 2011
Strong hoppy aroma, not overpowering though. Appearance was clear orange with frothy white head. Very good taste, medium bitter. Palate medium body, average carbonation. Enjoyed a very good beer. Not as hoppy as I expected though. Hoptober and Hophead much stronger hops. jmohno (1618) - Iowa, USA - NOV 13, 2011
UPDATED: NOV 24, 2011 Copper color-orange and red highlites.LIttle to no head, fizzled quickly.
Aroma of hops is very sublte, but im getting more malt, distinct malt grainyness & carmel and yeast notes- there is a weak cat-piss aroma and more definatly pronouced as it warms, yeah its getting danker now like magic. There are some yeast notes also.Seems it is more dominated with a octoberfest like mineraly/metallic smell
Taste is munichy- light burnt carmel with toasted with nut tones. A litle light carmel sweetness. Then a pretty strong herbal grassy bittering a little more in the flavor than bittering.
Overall its fairly smooth and sweetwith a malty nutty dryness and a hoppy dry medium bittering finish. All the remnants seem to linger in the finish.
Its pretty strong in sweet toasted malt flavor, this with the bittering makes it seem a little on the harsh side.Sligtly disapointed very happy to drink it. Im kind of disapointed in the hop aroma/flavor of this,it seems more malty like a scottish ale or octoberfest, its just mild i guess,in hop flavor. nuplastikk (6256) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 11, 2011
12oz bottle split at DC tasting. Orange-brown. Thin oily head. Very mellow, not unlike other NH beer. Clean, with lots of fresh hop tones. Doughy malt backbone. Very easy drinking, interesting contrast between the malt tones and the fresh, earthy hops. Quite nice. jmagnus87 (2912) - Rockford, Illinois, USA - NOV 6, 2011
12oz bottle from Pick’s poured into a shaker. Pours a clear amber with about a finger of thick white head. Aroma is caramel, some slight herbal hops and a surprising amount of skunk. Taste is very lightly bitter. Taste of caramel and light herbal hops. Light bodied with a thin texture. Lively carbonation and not much of a finish. Overall, it’s ok. Nothing I would seek out but it’s still drinkable.
