Michigan Hatter celebrates our local agriculture with its Michigan-grown Cascade hops from the Leelanau Penninsula. Bright and aromatic, with delicious malt notes underneath a citrusy showcase of hops. Pairings: sharp cheddars, herb-roasted poultry and curry.

Pours deep orange with a one finger bubbly cap that burns into a slow fade. Cant tell if the label on the bottle is whimsical or cheese. First scents are fresh citrus. This is a malty IPA. Very enjoyable. Yet another interesting brew from another Michigan microbrewery purchased during deep blues & rockabilly road trip. Curious now about other new holland offerings.

Bottle. Pours dark amber. Slight white head and spotty white lacing. Grassy, citrus aroma. Taste is cereal, bread, light bitterness. Overly malty. Meh.

Bottle. Pours out an odd dark reddish/brown color with a small white head, this is a nice looking beer, but not typical IPA look. Aroma is way too much bready, doughy, caramel malts with an odd dirt/fresh cut grass hop mix and maybe some old citrus fruits. Taste is watery, herbal tea, bread, caramel, mild grass, spicy hops, some lingering herbal bitterness.

22oz bomber from Canal’s Fire Road EHT. Poured far darker than most IPAs. Clear yet slightly watery rusty amber body with a foam bubble white head. Aroma is earthy, dirty hops, older citrus fruits and a touch of chocolate. Thinner body with average carbonation and chalky finish, light carbonation. Flavor of chocolate, rotting oranges, earthy. Not bad nut the more I sip it the less I like it.

Cybercat (6342) - Georgia, USA - JUL 11, 2013
Pours a clear, dark, brownish amber, almost mahogany, with a thick and rather persistent light tan head. Aroma is not particularly strong but has hoppy and fruity components. Decidedly hoppy flavor is mainly woody with a subtle citrus and apple undertone. Texture, though fizzy, lacks firmness. If not a great IPA, certainly worth a fair shake.

a nice dry-hopped aroma of citrusy cascade hops atop a fluffy head atop a hazy golden amber. green and piney, with a bit of malt and no discernible alcohol heat. medium bodied and milder in the flavor than aroma, at least hops-wise and it finishes a relatively dry and clean grapefruit. very nice, and definitely lighter fare than some of the other IPAs around. I’d like to see this in a six-pack rather than bomber bottles...

Bomber. Ugly looking amber with lots of stuff. Hop and pine aroma. Spicy hop taste. Not really my thing.

Decent aroma and active amber pour with a simple but smooth taste and small aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

In a tulip out of the bottle. One of many MI beers I'm trying after a trip. A classic cascade hop IPA. Tasty but not amazing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone by TheMattTucker

Bomber. Amber with lots of particulate. Spicy hops. Hoppy at the end. Not my favorite of the series.
