Saisons are still one of the oddest beers Ive had, they are all very different. The one thing you definitely notice is that there is a funky, off-taste like a very weird and over-ripe fruit mixed in among the typical beer tastes, but it actually goes together pretty well. I bought this one due to my love of monkeys and monkey kings, but I would get it again based on merit.

Bottle. Clear amber with lasting ivory foam. Fruity, light toast multi grain, peppery aromas. Smooth mouthfeel. Multi-grain bread, light toast, light pit fruit, peppercorn flavors---nicely tangy finish___good.

Pale golden pour with thick, persistent white foam. Sweet, malty and yeasty nose with faint touches of spice. Distinct notes of bubblegum. Thin body, sharp fizz and mineral finish. Peppery spice and some floral hops taste that develop as the beer warms. Strong mineral component and distinct hoppy backbone. Sour hoppy finish. In many ways a traditional, basic saison.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a tulip glass. On the apperance we have a cloudy golden straw color. The head produced was lively carbonation of thin white bubbly foam which died out allmost instantly. The carbonation is soft otherwise. The aroma opens up with some floral hops, yellow bell pepper, wet hay and distinctly funky doughy yeast, maybe a slight lemon note on the tailend. On the taste I get spicy hops, slight lemon tang, doughy/barnyard yeast all balanced with the hay maltiness.

Fruity little bitter but not hoppy. Perfect for summer. Goes well with Chinese food.

Bottle. Nose heavy lemon/orange peel and heavy black pepper, spices like mace and tea, some vanilla/meringue, wheat and marmalade. Pours very hazy, very pale yellow thats got a lot of white mixed in, supports a large and rocky bright white head, thick lace. Taste dry and heavily wheaten, very spicy and lightly tart, some flits of lemon and seemingly coriander, lightly herbal. Soft full body but not at all heavy, refreshing with a grainy aftertaste, key thing is that super (raw) wheat character, if a little murky. [2016.04.10: 3.4]

The hoppy aroma to this beer is very pleasant. The mixture of sweetness and bitterness is nice paired with the citrus.

Burnished golden. White head subsides quickly. Very dirty nose of DMS, white vinegar, gummy candy, apple juice, husky malt, unripe banana, chemicals. Flimsy mouthfeel. DMS and husky, grating malt assaults the palate immediately. Intensely vegetal with rampant cabbage notes coupled with plastic baggie, bile and gummy candy. Apple juice plagues the wet and limp finish, which reveals hints of herbal, peppery hops and an abundance of sulfur. I didnt need more than one sniff and a tiny, gag-inducing mouthful to confirm the lackluster quality of this. Heartbreakingly, this bills itself as a saison, because in reality, it comes off as more of an industrial lager fermented with a cheap saison strain than anything else. Reprehensible and undrinkable.

On tap at Jopen Proeflokaal, Amsterdam. Cloudy yellow with a white head. Aroma of citrus, tart light fruits, sorbet, really fresh. Flavour is moderate sour and a touch salty. Above light bodied with light carbonation.
