I got this bottle in a trade with joe1510. Thanks Joe!
It pours a pitch black with about an inch of tan foam. Lots of lacing here but the foam disappears quickly.
The smell has a sweetish nose to it with caramel malt and roasted malt. I also get lighter notes of chocolate, maybe some dark fruit, and some coffee. Good nose.
The taste is sweet as well with lots of chocolate, some caramel, some bittering from roasted malt and light coffee, a bit of toffee, and a bit of alcohol (which I think almost tastes oakey). Just a bit, mind you, but it's there and I get a quite a bit of warming during and after the swallow.
When I poured it, it looked to be thickish and I think it *is* full bodied, which I like. The carbonation is on the light side and it finishes with some dark chocolate and coffee bitterness. I just wish the alcohol was better concealed because this is very tasty but it'll be kind of a chore to finish the bottle. Yeah, it's the middle of summer and I probably should have waited until old man winter returned with the colder temps but I couldn't and I didn't. ;^) No doubt about it though...I recommend it! Looks like a stout with a smallish head. Lots of roast, some chocolate and a vague fruitiness. Good but not *that* good. darb85 (310) - Canton, Michigan, USA - AUG 3, 2017
UPDATED: AUG 3, 2017 Vanilla cocoa nose. Black pour, no head. Chocolate lead with vanilla a bit of booze heat on finish. Thicker mouth feel. dry finish.

Bottle. Pours pitch black with a small tan head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee and vanilla. Full body and smooth flavor of roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee, dark fruit and had notes of brown sugar. Hopper8 (258) - Holland, Michigan, USA - JUL 20, 2017
Pretty solid actually. I’m fairly impressed with the flavors going on in this imperial stout as the roasted malts are very present and yield hints of chocolate and fruit and not coffee. Overall good beer, and very easy to sip. jinroh (2447) - ESTONIA - APR 9, 2017
Almost black, some beige bubbles. Aroma having some roast and bit of barrel character although it’s not barrel aged. Taste has deep roasty sweetness and more dark dried plums. Bit of alcohol there, like aged in wine barrels although it’s not. Bit edgy bitter finish.

bottle - shared 3 ways. big bad imperial stout. tad heavy on the carbonation for my liking, but otherwise very solid. good beer SODAK14 (391) - Rapid City, South Dakota, USA - MAR 14, 2017
I’m had the 2016 version with 11.5% ABV. This pours a very dark almost black color with a small head. Nice brew but kind of turned off by too much of a fruitish flavor, I couldn’t quite place it. Also definitely can taste the alcohol in it...not really a good thing. Decent beer just not a great one.
