3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours cloudy amber. Small white head. Strong lacing. Aroma of pine and grass. Medium bitter flavor. Its been awhile since I’ve had regular Mad Hatter, but maybe flavor is mutted a little by the oak aging. Definitely has a very dry finish. Decent beer, pretty tasty, but nothing to get excited about.
Deep golden Amber. Big vanilla and wood aroma over a soft caramel sweetness. A bit of pine and a touch of fruitiness. It comes across like a hoppier version of Innis and Gunn. There's a bit of grass and spicy hoppiness on the back. A bit woodsy but still quite balanced and tasty. Nice beer. justkoehn (173) - Michigan, USA - SEP 15, 2016
Aged wood appearance with little head and lacing. Oak aged warms the hop aroma. Smoky taste up front with smooth hop finish.

Hops sweet that burst on the top of your mouth than fades quickly. Caramel malty slight sweet.

A: oak and wood, with some caramel malts and a hoppy mix of pine and grapefruit.
A: Reddish gold pour with 1/2 finger medium cream head. No retention and zero lace.
T: Slightly sweet caramel, pine, and floral hops upfront. Flavors follow through to the finish where some wood and toffee are added. Finish is kind of earthy with damp wood. At times a little alcohol is present at the finish as it warms.
P: Medium bodied and dry with a moderate carbonation.
O: Excellent beer for barrel aged fans. Very rounded and complimentary flavors. The oak presence and subtle bourbon notes are nice. GnarlyGnome (673) - Fairfield, Ohio, USA - MAR 29, 2015
Bottle: pretty good stuff. there is a lot of different aromas going on in here...but it’s different and tasty as long as it’s fresh.

2/7/15. Bomber. Pours a nice light golden oak with min head and light lacing. The oak really rounded out the hop notes. Drank more like a really refined ESB. Very drinkable.

Bottle at beerbistro, but don’t remember when.
Warm brown colour with off-white head. Nice lacing. Oaky, slight bitterness. Quite nicely balanced. VT (2527) - Quebec City, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 11, 2014
Bomber. Pours a clear dark amber with a white head. Aroma is caramel, herbal, hoppy, woody. Flavor is lots of caramel, herbal, woody. Lingering wood, vanilla, resin and herbs. Medium body, light to average carbonation. Blairgus (4615) - California, USA - DEC 2, 2014
2 dec 2014, bottle. Orange and hazy. Nose is dry pine hops and dry wood. Thin/med body and faintly fizzy. There is a slightly sweet granila malt, some peaches and pine hops, but the dry wood flavor really dampens the whole beer. It's ok. bobaidan (530) - Southington, Connecticut, USA - NOV 21, 2014
Not a bad IPA, but I did not taste much of the oak aging, and so was disappointed. Pretty much just tasted like Hatter.
