I was pleasantly surprised with this one! Foggy tan color with a thick head, lots of lace and a nice sweet hoppy aroma. Mildly sweet and hoppy with a pleasant bitter mouthfeel. Not too bitter, blended very well with the rest of the flavor. Finish is hoppy, slightly bitter and dry. A great Pale Ale! superspak (5597) - Michigan, USA - MAR 31, 2013
12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 2/15/2013. Pours moderately cloudy golden orange color with a 1-2 finger dense off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with plenty of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of orange zest, grapefruit, peach, lemon zest, floral, light pine, caramel, biscuit, and light nuttiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of hop and malt notes. Taste of orange zest, grapefruit, pine, lemon zest, floral, caramel, biscuit, light nuttiness, and floral earthiness. Moderate pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, pine, floral, caramel, biscuit, and floral earthiness on the finish for a bit. Very nice complexity of hop and malt flavor; with a great hop/malt flavor balance; and zero cloying flavors present after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a lightly creamy, crisp, and slightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with hardly any warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very nice pale ale. Nice hop/malt balance and complexity; very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering. deusax (459) - Grenoble, FRANCE - JAN 24, 2014
Bottle @JustBeer. Aroma of light hops. Color is amber, with a thin head. Taste of earthy hops, with a strong bitterness. Nice round mouth, with light fuzz. A very nice APA overall jsmerig (1590) - Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 19, 2014
Pours a hazy golden brown with a whit foamy head. Aroma of orange and citrus fruit. Taste starts slightly caramel then dries up with a bitter offset. It never gets truly bitter. It remains balanced throughout. Very smooth with a clean finish.

Great aroma. Great taste, hoppy and dry. Appearance is fair, good lacing. Palate is medium bodied. Overall, a very drinkable pale ale.

Delicious and very reasonably priced. The brewery is only 400 miles from me, so freshness is not a problem. FUNK (120) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 16, 2001
A light gold color with minimal head. A mild malt taste and just enough bitterness from the hops. Also a bit of a fruity taste. All in all another good beer from NHB. aracauna (3606) - Georgia, USA - SEP 23, 2002
Attractive for an APA. Cloudy copper with golden highlights, it catches the light well. The easy-forming white head is a bit fizzy and fades quickly to a soapy film. The citric cascades hit the nose first but after teh beer airs out a bit, the malt comes through more. The flavor is sharp bite of the hop followed by the mellow malt. There’s a brightness and slight ester character that makes this a pleasant drink. Simple but crisp and refreshing. AlabastorJones (814) - Seattle, Washington, USA - DEC 1, 2002
This is a good brew, it has a complex and intresting flavor that hints of fruit. It initial flavor is fresh and leaves a piney taste in the mouth. unclebleen (620) - California, USA - JUL 30, 2004
A good APA...I’m really starting to like these Michigan beers. Gold color with good head retention and lacing. Taste is like most other APA’s with the exception that this one actually offers some interesting malt balance. Body is nice.
