I’m glad more breweries are experimenting with the wheatwine and the barrel aging on this adds a level of complexity you don’t have in, say, a Blvd Harvest Dance. ajnepple (6622) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JUN 4, 2015
12 oz bottle from Hy-Vee in Muscatine. Amber to brown and clear appearance with a small, lingering tan head. Light sediment and active carbonation. Aroma of sweet malts, caramel, oak, bread, vanilla, nutty, light fruity esters and a touch of bourbon. Similar flavor, medium to heavy sweetness, mostly hiding the alcohol. Full body with soft carbonation and a smooth, creamy feel. Pretty sweet, rich and somewhat complex. Pretty solid barley wine, definitely a sipper. djd07 (14517) - Houston, Texas, USA - APR 12, 2015
Bottle thanks to Nathan. Pours a clear copper with small beige head. The aroma is strong gorp and vanilla. Medium mouth with similar flavor to nose, nice sweetness, very good. SG111 (1821) - New York, USA - MAR 26, 2015
2014 vintage. Pours chestnut mahogany color. Small quickly dissipating tan head. Aroma is plenty of bourbon, toffee, fig, raisins, vanilla, candied sugar. Flavor is intense bourbon, boozy, fig, toffee, vanilla. Lots of booze, though. Slight hop bitterness. Surprisingly effervescent. A little too strong. They could have tamed this one a bit. But still a great beer. akoeninger (755) - Wisconsin, USA - MAR 9, 2015
Ruby color with tan head that lingers and good lacing. Rich malty aroma and taste of figs, caramel, molasses, booze, raisins. Wheat and honey are also present. Syrupy and coating mouth feel. This was very, very good.

Plummy ruby amber with a thin sticky off white head. Lovely nose with some brown sugary plum tones, cinnamon raisin bread, and a kiss of wheat. Big wonderful flavor with lovely cinnamon raisin toast from the nose, gentle cereal and bourbon notes, and a kiss of cinnamon toast crunch children’s cereal on the finish. Actually, once it warms, that children’s cereal flavor gets bigger. With lovely raisin bread tones. markas101 (2452) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - FEB 8, 2015
12 oz bottle, Ann Arbor, MI, USA. Slightly hazy amber, lots of prune and raisin, strong resin background. Heavy body, immediate alcohol and smoke, then some bready malt and roasted nuts. Long burning finish. Very intense. bubblehouse (1531) - louisville, Kentucky, USA - FEB 5, 2015
Has a really sweet nose. Pours a light brown. Bourbon aging enhances the barley wine. wlajwl (6811) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - JAN 14, 2015
