Aromas of roasted coffee with a touch of chocolate. Just a slight touch of spice - cinnamon or nutmeg.
Color is dark brown, almost black. Sparse tan head.
Taste is slightly sweet, moderately bitter.
Body is a little things for a stout; carbonation average; average length finish.
Overall a reasonably good beer, though just a bit thin and simple.

This is a fairly ordinary oatmeal stout, lacking in complexity, thin bodied, weak and the black malt ashiness is overdone. Great label design attracted me to this one, and I will say, for a sweet stout it is by no means cloyingly sweet. Roasty, burnt toasty, somewhat smooth and pretty easy drinking... but I think I’ll stick with Samuel Smith and others for this style. Dal9000 (633) - Ohio, USA - FEB 21, 2017
At Whole Foods. Pours dark dark brown with no head. Aroma of toasted grain. Initial taste of caramelized toasted mild cocoa. Very smooth and mild and creamy.

Draft. Black body with a small brown head. The aroma is slightly alcoholic with some smoked whisky notes. The taste is vanilla and toasted malts. Nice kick at the end. eRock_2013 (469) - South Carolina, USA - JAN 29, 2017
At the risk of sounding like I plagiarized from the brewery’s own description, I must say this classic oatmeal stout is a clean and exceptionally smooth example of the style, featuring a fresh and flavorful roasted malt taste, with roasted hints of coffee and milk chocolate. Pours a pleasant translucent coffee-brown color with a nice creamy and foamy head. Truly a silky smooth mouthfeel with a simple but superior roasted malt flavor profile.

A little bit on the sweet side but still pretty darn good. A simple sweet stout flavor of chocolate mostly. Plus it tastes like victory, as I won this for Denver beating Oakland. evergreen0199 (3369) - Northwood, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 16, 2016
Bottle from New Beer Distributors, Manhattan, New York, USA. A black coloured pour with a small beige head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate aroma. Tastes similar, roasty, malty, chocolate, hint of coffee. Decent. Mainuh_man (291) - NETHERLANDS - OCT 29, 2016
12 Oz bottle. Pours black with a big, brown head that dissipates quickly, leaving strong, slow legging. Tons of chocolate, coffee and roasty malt with some cherry on the nose. Lots of chocolate flavor, quite sweet with lingering burnt malt bitterness and alcohol at the end. Thick, creamy mouthfeel with cloying sugars. Overall, really decent. Hits all the senses well.
