COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This stout is sheer beer poetry. Let it warm to about 45 F and pour it into a glass to fully experience its rich, roasty flavors and hints of coffee and chocolate. One glass and you’ll agree: The Poet is truly a rich, creamy brew of epic proportions.

Bottle. Very Dark Brown in colour. Beige head. Malty; roasty malts, oaty, dark chocolate, coffee, hint of caramel. Hoppy; lightly hopped. Bitter-sweet roast malty chocolate and coffee throughout. Decent. (2014-12-30)

A little bit on the sweet side but still pretty darn good. A simple sweet stout flavor of chocolate mostly. Plus it tastes like victory, as I won this for Denver beating Oakland.

Bottle from New Beer Distributors, Manhattan, New York, USA. A black coloured pour with a small beige head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate aroma. Tastes similar, roasty, malty, chocolate, hint of coffee. Decent.

12 Oz bottle. Pours black with a big, brown head that dissipates quickly, leaving strong, slow legging. Tons of chocolate, coffee and roasty malt with some cherry on the nose. Lots of chocolate flavor, quite sweet with lingering burnt malt bitterness and alcohol at the end. Thick, creamy mouthfeel with cloying sugars. Overall, really decent. Hits all the senses well.

Wonderful sort of. Smooth and soft with bite. Milky, bitterness throughout, roasted almonds, brown sugar, light coffee, licorice. The hops are sizzly. The bitterness feels good but in the end I prefer my oatmeals much quieter. Great aftertaste.

Bottle @ Oliver Twist. Very dark brown with a small brown head. Malty and fruity tones. Malt, coffee, licorice and hops. Medium body with a nice bitter/ malty finish.

Pours almost black with a short fairly long lasting cream head. Aroma of mild coffee and a little chocolate. Relatively thin mouth feel but very smooth taste of coffee and chocolate. Not TOO sweet (as compared to say a mild stout). Very easy to drink but not too complicated
