Bottle at home ... Big thanks to Beer Bill for this ... black ... think bubbly tan head ... light sweet roast malts with a little chocolate ... bit thin in palate .... dark berries and cherries ... little creamy ... little oatmeal ... little coffee ... tasty but just lacking a bit in body.

Bottle shared during the satellite Travlr 10K tasting at CBC Clerkenwell - London. Thanks to Fergus (I think...)! Pours clear brown with a creamy, beige head. Simple beer but tasty, with sugary bread, light roast, some tar, balancing bitter earth. Light to medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Light jammy berries on the finish along with notes of chocolate and understated roasted malts. Pretty good. Easygoing and tasty.

Almost opaque black, not much head. Slightly hoppy aroma with strong milk chocolate presence. Not really strong nose. Chocolaty, medium-bodied, despite of roastiness a bit bland. Roasted aftertaste.

UPDATED: APR 29, 2010 Tasty light oatmeal stout. A little watery. Low-bodied. Black pour. Chocolate, oat and coffee mouthfeel. It’s good if you want an oatmeal stout and don’t want to sip on just one all night. Rated 4/6/10

brokensail (16449) - Dublin, California, USA - JUL 20, 2014
On tap @ Pi Pizzeria. Very dark brown pour with a khaki head. Smells a bit smokey and ashy. Lots of roasted malt, some coffee grounds, and a bit of dark chocolate. There’s a pleasant bitterness to the flavor, mostly coffee and roast. Semi-sweet chocolate, a hint of vanilla, and lots of ash. Mild smoke and a touch of oatmeal cookie.
