COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This stout is sheer beer poetry. Let it warm to about 45 F and pour it into a glass to fully experience its rich, roasty flavors and hints of coffee and chocolate. One glass and youll agree: The Poet is truly a rich, creamy brew of epic proportions.

This beer is an opaque dark brown (almost black) color with a medium beige head that dissipates slowly. Thin curtain of lacing throughout the glass. The aroma is very roasty, with coffee and dark chocolate. Medium-bodied and closer in consistency to a Porter than a Stout. Roasted coffee at the forefront, with molasses, chocolate and some hops in the flavor. The finish is mildly bitter and roasty. Overall this is a pretty good Stout, but it is lacking richness.

12oz bottle. Poured a dark brown with red edges and an averaged sized tan head. Aromas of roast, milk chocolate, cocoa and light coffee. Tastes of milk chocolate, roast, and a light coffee finish. Body on the somewhat thin side.

Decent Oatmeal stout, started out very nice, got a little boring by the end, but overall good.

A blackish stout, minimal head. Faint roast, some malt in the nose. About average mouthfeel, which is below average for this style. Modest sourness. Drinkability is about average. A decent beer, but not best representation of style.

Pretty nice stout. Black pour wtih a small brown head. Aroma is pretty weak, but i do smell the typical coffee and cocao. Some molasses on the nose and togue. Beer is faintly sweet and has some nice balance. Nice beer to try, but not one to seek out on a regular basis.

Nice stout...not quite as good as Id hoped, but as advertised - subtle hints of coffee and chocolate, and a nice firm malt bill. Smooth if not big bodied.

Bottle... Black ale with a mid-sized, frothy, well-tanned head. Good retention. Milk chocolate and caramel aroma. Well rounded, burnt, chocolaty notes in the flavor. Medium bitter with good balance. Medium to full-bodied with lively carbonation. Roasted, mildly burnt, lightly bitter finish. Lots of milk chocolate overall. Reminds me just a bit of Weyerbachers Old Heathen. Thanks go out to WBC for the bottle!

Bottle. Poured black with a thick brown head. Aroma was full of grain, oat and a bit of caramel. Flavor was one note with grain/oat malts dominating.
