Cask gravity at the 2016 Watford beer festival 4/11/2016. A reddy nut brown coloured pour with a lasting dirty tan head. Aroma is tangy red berries, nutty malts, dried apple, hint of vinegar. Flavour is composed of semi sweet nutty, toasted malts, tangy apple, brown sugar, hint of infection, . Palate is a little thin and tangy, chalk and lowish carbonation. Ok. But a bit weird. . Faint Watermelon. The_Osprey (9343) - Richmond, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 25, 2015
Cask, gravity dispense at Twickenham Beer Festival 2015. Very dark brown, clear, still, small bubbly off-white head. Aroma is chocolate cheesecake with cream, chocolate gateaux too. Very nice and inviting. Body is light, smooth, watery. Taste is light and sweet, sugary malt, very watery flavour, soggy biscuits. Blergh. A pity, because this smells great. Hand-pulled half-pint after a long day of drinking: 24 Aug 2013, in the last pub of the day, The Crown Inn, Oakengates. niquillis (2752) - Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, ENGLAND - AUG 23, 2012
Deep ruby body, headless with a thin beige collar.
Slightly off-ish aroma, turning to vinegar maybe: should have took it back I suppose. Taste wasn’t much better actually. Some chocolate and coffee notes, but the beer was ’on the turn’.
I’ll re-review if I ever have it again.
