COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
When our friends at Biekraft & Mile End Deli (both of the great borough of Brooklyn) came to us and said “we want to brew a beer with you”, how could we resist? After collaboration, discussion, and more than a few pints consumed, it was decided: our collaboration beer would be a Biere de Garde, a French-style of beer. Coming in at 6.5% ABV, this copper-colored ale is reminiscent of a lager; like a lager, it was cool fermented, and went through a 2 month “garde’ing” period. And to mix things up a bit: there was a partial souring of the mash during the brew. The result is a smooth and extremely drinkable beer… in fact, it drinks like a beer far more sessionable than it’s full 6.5% ABV! And the name, “Amis D’hiver”? That is French for “Winter Friends”, which is a perfect name to describe a beer done in collaboration with our friends down in Brooklyn. We hope you enjoy Amis D’hiver with a few of your friends as well!

On draft at the brewery. Pours clear golden orange with a small foamy off white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast and spice, bready malts, and hints of apple and sweet fruit. Taste of apples, grape skins, Belgian yeast, spice, and caramel malt.

Draft at Pony Bar HK during the Hudson Valley NY tap take over event. Pours a light, golden-amber body with thick white head. Aroma is full of spice, light malt and grain. Mouthfeel is spicy, with tons of spice and esters kicking your face in. Lots of belgian spice, sweet malt and candy.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear amber with a thin white head. Gentle caramel on the nose, sweet with light fruity yeast notes. Medium bodied, sweet and fruity up front. More caramel and some nice fruity notes into the finish. A touch sweet for me but quite tasty.

Enjoyed at Bierkraft on tap. Fresh and spicy, spot on biere de garde in this collaboration with Miles End and Bierkraft.
