Tap at brewery. Pours jet black with tan head. Aromas of chocolate, Coffee, roast malt. Taste is all that plus some vanilla slight alcohol burn. Palate was thick, creamy and viscous. Perfect amount of carbonation. This stout rates right up there with the big boys. beerbill (3616) - Laurel, New York, USA - JUN 14, 2014
On draught at The Dutch Ale House. My wife ordered this beer since she loves imperial stouts and damn, I wish I had ordered it instead! Arrived to the table black with a fairly rich dark brown head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left moderate lace. Very pleasant chocolaty aroma along with heavily roasted malt. The flavor is more roast with some chocolate. Mild bitterness at the finish. Smooth and well rounded. Really nice beer! davegram (14) - - APR 17, 2014
My favorite beer out of Newburgh Brewery. It's got a coffee aroma. The taste is very malty, dark chocolate, and roasty. Surprisingly sweet finish. It's very drinkable for an imperial stout.

Draft at pony bar HK. Pours a black body with no head. Aroma is sweet chocolate and light roast. Mouthfeel is medium with notes of sweet chocolate, double espresso with three sugars and sweet roast. I should drink these at work. Sammy (12105) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 11, 2014
UPDATED: FEB 16, 2014 On cask at Bierkraft. Complex beer on cask, good chile that goes with everything. Had this a few days later from growler and the nose was great. Thick mouthfeel. mansquito (6338) - Nueva York, New York, USA - SEP 15, 2013
The Sampler, Brooklyn tap: Pours black with a light brown head. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, and roasted malts. Taste is a little sweet, with loads of milky chocolate and light, but flavorful coffee. Alcohol is well-covered. Body is smooth, creamy, and easy-drinking. I didn’t catch many licorice notes or anything in there though. Pretty good IS. beerscout (298) - New Windsor, New York, USA - MAY 19, 2013
Tap. Deep brown to black color. Thin creamy tan head. Nose was thick in coffee, caramel, and dark fruits such as plum. Flavor was brown sugar, toasted caramel, bittersweet chocolate, and plum. Very nice.
