Cask at the King William IV, Nottingham. Bear Island is another pale gold beer from Newby Wyke. Its aroma suggests fresh bread dough. The flavour is bitter and spicy with hints of citrus rind. It tastes stronger than it its ABV with a kick in the finish.

Cask (Gallows Bird, Espoo, Real Summer Ale Festival 2004) Rich gold, tiny head. Flowery hoppy aroma. Interesting roasted malt taste - it actually tastes of pork to me! Dry hoppy finish.

A hazy, pale golden yellow coloured beer with a thick white head. A lemony citrus hop aroma, slightly sour. The taste is very dry, and hoppy, with a tart citrus fruit flavour of lemons and grapefruit, followed by a dry finish. (Cask - The Fox & Hounds, Heacham, Norfolk).

[email protected] Derby Winter Beer Festival. Pale beer with a light airy head. The aroma is vinous and the flavour is like a fruity wine with a fruity bitter finish. Overall a poorish beer.

[Cask at GBBF 2004] A pale yellow beer with no head. The aroma is sweet and very hoppy combined with lesser notes of lemon. The flavor is very hoppy and grassy combined with notes of alcohol - almost American in style.

Hand pulled at the Swan and Rushes, Leicester. Very hoppy indeed: big citric, aggressive. Some pepper and grapefruit. Almost harsh in the aftertaste, but still palatable and still fresh. Good, hard stuff.
